Diese Drehteller (Affiliate Link) schaue ich mir schon eine ganze Weile an. Aber ich war mir nicht sicher, ob sie wirklich das Richtige für mich sind.
Aber kurz gesagt: Ich würde den Drehteller wieder kaufen. Er bringt sofort mehr Ordnung ins Bad – vor allem, wenn viele kleine Produkte herumstehen.

Mein Problem war Unordnung im Bad. Nicht wirklich Unordnung, aber der Kleinkram, der so herumsteht. Ein kleines Gläschen hiervon, ein kleines Töpfchen davon und noch schlimmer – drei Tuben von diesem. Ihr wisst, was ich meine. Es sieht unordentlich aus und nervt beim Putzen. Außerdem ist dieser herumliegende Kleinkram im Badezimmer ja auch schon rein farblich gesehen ein einziges Chaos.
Also suchte ich etwas, mit dem ich dem Kleinkram im Bad den Garaus machen konnte.

Der Kleinkram-Kampf – und wie der Drehteller ihn gewann

Ich habe schon alles Mögliche ausprobiert, wie beispielsweise Körbchen. Aber nur mit mäßigem Erfolg. In Körbchen kann man nicht richtig hineinschauen, und im Bad muss es oft zügig gehen. Da will man nicht in drei Körbchen wühlen. Glas und Keramik kommen für Ordnungssysteme im Bad für mich aus Sicherheitsgründen nicht in Frage. Ich bin im Bad immer barfuß unterwegs, und meine Fliesen sind leider empfindlich. Holz bekommt unschöne Wasserflecken, und Pappe weicht auf.
Also habe ich mich auf die Suche nach einem Ordnungssystem gemacht, das all diesen Ansprüchen gerecht wird – und mich für diese Drehteller aus Kunststoff entschieden.

Und ich muss sagen, ich bereue meinen Kauf nicht. Mit den Drehtellern habe ich das Kleinkram-Chaos gebändigt. Sie bringen sofort mehr Ruhe ins Bad – vor allem, wenn viele kleine Produkte herumstehen.
Was ich daran wirklich mag: Nun ist mein Badregal ordentlich, nichts kippt mehr um und ich finde alles sofort. Gerade morgens ist das praktisch, wenn es schnell gehen muss.
Den zweiten Drehteller habe ich im Badunterschrank. Da ist es fast noch besser. Jetzt muss ich nicht mehr in den Schrank krabbeln, wenn ich etwas suche. Man wird ja nicht jünger…
Meine Mutter habe ich übrigens auch angesteckt. Da dreht sich jetzt der halbe Haushalt 😂🙈.

Ich würde ihn jederzeit wieder kaufen – vor allem für kleinere Bäder. Ich kann mir Drehteller auch überall dort gut vorstellen, wo viele kleine Dinge herumstehen und eine klassische Box einfach keinen Sinn macht.

I’ve had my eye on these turntable organizers (affiliate link) for quite a while. But I wasn’t sure if they were really the right choice for me. But in short: I would buy the turntable organizer again. It instantly brings more calm to the bathroom – especially when lots of small products are cluttering the space.

My problem was clutter in the bathroom. Not real mess, but all those little things just sitting around. A small jar of this, a little pot of that, and even worse – three tubes of something else. You know what I mean. It looks untidy and is annoying to clean around. And honestly, all that random clutter in the bathroom is a complete visual chaos too. So I was looking for something to finally tackle the clutter problem once and for all.

The Clutter Battle – and How the Turntable Organizer Won

I’d already tried everything – baskets, for example. But with limited success. You can’t really see into baskets properly, and in the bathroom you often need things quickly. Nobody wants to rummage through three baskets. Glass and ceramic are out of the question for me in the bathroom for safety reasons. I always walk around barefoot, and my tiles are unfortunately sensitive. Wood gets ugly water stains, and cardboard goes soggy. So I went looking for an organizer that ticked all the boxes – and ended up choosing these plastic turntable organizers.

And I have to say, I don’t regret my purchase at all. The turntable organizers have tamed the clutter chaos completely. They instantly bring more calm to the bathroom – especially when lots of small products are involved. What I really love about them: my bathroom shelf is now tidy, nothing falls over anymore and I find everything immediately. Especially useful in the mornings when you’re in a rush.

The second turntable organizer lives in my bathroom cabinet. That’s actually even better. No more crawling into the cabinet looking for things. We’re not getting any younger… I’ve also converted my mum. Now half her household revolves. Ha ha 😂🙈

I’d buy it again anytime – especially for smaller bathrooms. I can also imagine turntable organizers working brilliantly anywhere lots of small items tend to pile up and a classic box just doesn’t make sense.

Von einem Nahrungsergänzungsmittel hatte ich ein paar wirklich hübsche und praktische Apothekengläser mit Schraubverschluss übrig. Viel zu schade für den Glasmüll. Als ich mir die Gläser so ansah, dachte ich mir, sie wären perfekt als neue Apothekengläser für Gewürze und Kräuter.
Außerdem hatten meine bisherigen Gewürzgläser dringend ein Update nötig – sie wurden etwas unansehnlich. Nach einem kurzen Check, ob diese Gläser auch wirklich in meine Schublade passen, war ich Feuer und Flamme, sie als neue Kräuter- und Gewürzgläser zu nutzen.

Leider hatte ich natürlich nicht genügend von diesen Gläsern für all meine Kräuter und Gewürze. Und ich möchte jetzt auch nicht bis ans Ende meiner Tage diese Nahrungsergänzungsmittel nehmen, nur um meine Gewürzsammlung umfüllen zu können. Denn eines ist sicher: Ich hasse Durcheinander in meinen Schubladen.
Also habe ich mich online auf die Suche gemacht und tatsächlich fast identische Apothekengläser für Gewürze und Kräuter gefunden. Der Deckel war zwar ein wenig anders, aber damit konnte ich leben.

Da der Stil der Apothekengläser gut zum „Natural Style“ passt, wollte ich natürlich auch Aufkleber, die dazu passen. Dabei bin ich auf Kraftpapieraufkleber gestoßen. Ich habe runde Aufkleber für die Deckel bestellt, damit ich von oben direkt sehen kann, was in den Kräuter- und Gewürzgläsern ist. Außerdem größere für die Gläser selbst – falls ich sie in ein Regal stelle oder liegend aufbewahre.

Passende Aufkleber für Apothekengläser im Natural Style

Ein kleiner Tipp: Die Deckel meiner Apothekengläser haben einen Durchmesser von 5 cm, also habe ich gezielt nach Aufklebern mit 4 cm Durchmesser gesucht. Achtet darauf, falls ihr euch auch solche Gläser zulegen wollt, denn die meisten Aufkleber haben einen Durchmesser von 5 cm.
Außerdem gibt es die Gläser in verschiedenen Größen, was ziemlich praktisch ist – von manchen Gewürzen habe ich gerne auch ein wenig mehr im Haus.
Ich liebe es übrigens, wenn in meinen Schubladen alles aufgeräumt und ordentlich aussieht. Gerade solche kleinen Helfer machen den Unterschied. Im Bad habe ich das Problem mit der Unordnung zum Beispiel mit kleinen Drehtellern gelöst – darüber habe ich hier schon einmal geschrieben.

I had a few really beautiful and practical apothecary jars with screw lids left over from a dietary supplement. Far too nice to throw away. When I looked at them, I thought they would be perfect as new apothecary jars for spices and herbs.
My old spice jars were also in need of an update – they had become a bit worn. After a quick check to see if the apothecary jars would actually fit into my drawer, I was completely convinced to use them as my new spice and herb jars.

Of course, I didn’t have enough of these jars for all my spices and herbs. And I’m definitely not going to keep taking that supplement forever just to complete my collection. One thing is certain: I hate clutter in my drawers.
So I started looking online and actually found almost identical apothecary jars for spices and herbs. The lid was slightly different, but I could live with that.
Since the style of the jars fits perfectly with a natural look, I also wanted matching labels. I came across kraft paper labels and ordered round ones for the lids, so I can see from above what’s inside. I also got larger labels for the jars themselves, in case I store them on a shelf or lying down.

A small tip: The lids of my jars have a diameter of 5 cm, so I specifically looked for labels with a diameter of 4 cm. Keep that in mind if you want to recreate this, as most labels come in 5 cm.
The jars are also available in different sizes, which is really practical – for some spices I like to keep a bit more on hand.
I really love it when everything in my drawers looks neat and organized. These small details make such a difference for me. In my bathroom, for example, I solved a similar organization issue with small rotating trays – I’ve written about that here before.

Diese Vintage Boxen sind eigentlich schon ein alter Hut, aber sie sind toll – und man kann davon fast nicht genug haben. Genau genommen handelt es sich dabei um alte Ziegelformen, die früher zur Herstellung von Ziegeln verwendet wurden. Heute „zweckentfremden“ wir sie und nutzen sie als kleine dekorative Storage-Boxen.
Sie sehen nicht neu und perfekt aus, sondern haben Gebrauchsspuren, Patina und kleine Unregelmäßigkeiten. Gerade das mag ich an ihnen besonders. Dadurch wirken sie sofort lebendiger als eine normale Aufbewahrungsbox aus Plastik.

Ich nutze solche Vintage Boxen gerne in der Küche, wie auf meinen Fotos. Man kann darin kleine Dinge sammeln, die sonst irgendwo herumliegen: Gewürze, Gläser, Servietten, Teelichter oder Küchenkleinkram. Aber auch im Badezimmer funktionieren sie gut, zum Beispiel für Kosmetik, Gästehandtücher oder kleine Pflegeprodukte. Ich finde sie auch als Geschenkbox ziemlich cool.
Es gibt Leute, die solche alten Ziegelformen sogar als Wandregale verwenden, zum Beispiel für Gewürze. Das sieht ziemlich gut aus. Und ich habe auch schon gesehen, dass sie bepflanzt werden – als kleine rustikale Pflanzboxen.
Mir gefällt außerdem, dass sie eine schöne Alternative zu Plastikboxen sind. Sie sind robust, langlebig und haben nicht diesen typischen Aufbewahrungsbox-Charakter. Wenn man sie mag, kann man sie wahrscheinlich ein Leben lang behalten.

These vintage boxes may already be an old story, but they are wonderful – and honestly, you can hardly have enough of them. Strictly speaking, they are old brick molds that were once used to make bricks. Today, we “repurpose” them and use them as small decorative storage boxes.
They do not look new or perfect, but have signs of use, patina and small irregularities. That is exactly what I like about them. It immediately makes them feel more alive than a normal plastic storage box.

I like using vintage boxes like these in the kitchen, as you can see in my photos. You can collect all kinds of small things in them that would otherwise be lying around somewhere: spices, glasses, napkins, tealights or little bits and pieces from the kitchen. But they also work well in the bathroom, for example for cosmetics, guest towels or small care products. I also think they are pretty cool as gift boxes.
Some people even use old brick molds as wall shelves, for example for spices. That looks pretty good. And I have also seen them planted with greenery – as small rustic plant boxes.
I also like that they are a beautiful alternative to plastic boxes. They are robust, long-lasting and do not have that typical storage-box look. If you like them, you can probably keep them for a lifetime.

Ich hasse Unordnung. Und ja, ich liebe Marie Kondo und verschlinge die Folgen von „The Home Edit“.
Ich falte meine Klamotten zwar nach meinen eigenen Regeln, ich bin schließlich Dekorateurin. Vermutlich habe ich schon Wäscheberge für Schaufenster- und Ladendekorationen gefaltet, die kilometerhoch sind. Und Dinge farblich nach Regenbogen zu sortieren, ist für mein Auge unerträglich. Nein, da bin ich eigen, und das treibt mir auch eine Marie Kondo nicht mehr aus.

Meine letzte Problemzone in Sachen Ordnung waren Schuhe. Schuhe liegen einfach irgendwie herum, kippen um und sind obendrein noch schmutzig. Ich brauchte also eine halbwegs hübsche Aufbewahrung für Schuhe ohne Schuhschrank, die sich einfach ins Interior einfügt. Wohin also vernünftig mit Schuhen? Ich habe schließlich kein Ankleidezimmer und auch keinen Platz für einen Schuhschrank, außerdem sehen die meisten Schuhschränke furchtbar aus. In meinem Schrank haben schmutzige Schuhe auch nichts zu suchen. Jetzt kommt mir nicht mit Schuhkartons. Ich weiß, die kann man stapeln, aber wenn man an das unterste Paar will … Nein, das ist keine Lösung, zudem sehen sie unterschiedlich aus und sind verschieden groß.

Die Anforderungen an meine Aufbewahrung für Schuhe ohne Schuhschrank

Ich möchte meine Schuhe sehen, ich möchte sie einfach entnehmen und auch wieder verstauen können, sie sollen nicht einstauben und auch nicht gequetscht werden. Die Aufbewahrung sollte wenig Platz einnehmen und schön aussehen beziehungsweise sich in die Einrichtung integrieren. Außerdem sollte die ganze Sache günstig und umweltfreundlich sein. Ich wollte auf keinen Fall für jedes Paar Schuhe eine Kunststoffbox kaufen. Kurz: eine Aufbewahrung für Schuhe ohne Schuhschrank, die meinen inneren Ordnungsfreak nicht triggert.

Und wer suchet, der findet! Es ist wie mit meiner Badewanne (ich habe hier darüber berichtet), ich habe eine perfekte Lösung gefunden und nutze dieses Schuh-Aufbewahrungssystem bereits seit einigen Jahren – und mittlerweile auch viele meiner Freunde. Grund genug, euch davon zu berichten.

Meine Lösung: Boxen statt Schuhschrank

Ich habe diese Boxen (affiliate link) aus stabilem Karton gefunden. Sie haben ein Sichtfenster und funktionieren als Schublade. Sie sind einfach perfekt. Für mich sind sie die ideale Aufbewahrung für Schuhe ohne Schuhschrank, ohne dass ein hässlicher Schuhschrank im Weg steht. Ich stapel die Kartons einfach in einem Spalt zwischen Schrank und Wand. An einer anderen Stelle habe ich auch einige der Boxen in einem Regal samt meiner Handtaschen gestapelt und verstaue in einer der Boxen noch einen Regenschirm und kleine Handtaschen.

Um den perfekten Durchblick zu behalten, habe ich von allen Schuhen ein Foto gemacht, es auf ein Etikett gedruckt und auf den jeweiligen Karton geklebt. In manche Kartons passen übrigens auch zwei Paar Sommerschuhe oder mehrere Flip-Flops.
Mittlerweile habe ich die Boxen überall für diversen Kram an Stellen, wo ein Karton mit Deckel zu unpraktisch ist – wie beispielsweise gestapelt in einem Schrank.

PS: Der einzige Haken an der Sache: Es gibt sie leider nur in einer Größe, und sie passen nicht für große Stiefel und sehr große Herrenschuhe.

I hate clutter. And yes, I love Marie Kondo and binge-watch every episode of “The Home Edit”.
I still fold my clothes by my own rules, after all I’m a decorator. I’ve probably folded clothing mountains for shop windows and store decorations that reach up to the sky. And colour-coding things like a rainbow is unbearable for my eyes. No, I’m picky about that and not even Marie Kondo is going to change it.

My last problem area when it comes to organizing was shoes. They are just lying around, falling over and, on top of that, they are dirty. I needed a halfway pretty shoe storage without a shoe cabinet that blends in with my interior. So where do you put shoes in a sensible way? I don’t have a dressing room and I don’t have space for a shoe cabinet, and most shoe cabinets look terrible anyway. Dirty shoes definitely don’t belong in my wardrobe either. And please don’t start with shoe boxes. I know you can stack them, but the moment you need the pair at the very bottom… No, that’s not a solution, plus they all look different and come in all sizes.

The requirements for my shoe storage without a shoe cabinet

I want to see my shoes, I want to take them out easily and put them back just as easily, they shouldn’t get dusty and they shouldn’t be squashed. The storage should take up little space and look nice or at least blend in with the rest of the decor. On top of that, the whole thing should be affordable and as eco-friendly as possible. Buying a plastic box for every single pair of shoes was absolutely out of the question for me. In short: I wanted a shoe storage without a shoe cabinet that doesn’t trigger my inner neat freak.

And if you seek, you shall find! It was just like with my bathtub (I wrote about it here), I found the perfect solution and have been using this shoe storage system for several years now – and meanwhile many of my friends do as well. Reason enough to finally share it with you.

My solution: boxes instead of a shoe cabinet

I found these boxes (affiliate link) made of sturdy cardboard. They have a little window at the front and work like a drawer. They are simply perfect. For me they are the ideal shoe storage without a shoe cabinet, without an ugly shoe cabinet standing around somewhere. I stack the boxes in a narrow gap between wardrobe and wall. In another spot I have a few of them stacked on a shelf together with my handbags, and in one of the boxes I store an umbrella and some small clutches.

To keep the perfect overview, I took a photo of every pair of shoes, printed it on labels and stuck it onto the respective box. Some of the boxes even fit two pairs of summer shoes or several pairs of flip-flops.
By now I use the boxes all over the house for all sorts of bits and pieces – wherever a normal box with lid would simply be too impractical, like stacked inside a cupboard.

PS: The only downside of the whole thing: they unfortunately come in just one size, so they don’t work for tall boots or very large men’s shoes.

Wusstet ihr, dass man als alt gilt, wenn man sich auf einer Party über seinen Thermomix unterhält? Tja, willkommen im Club.😈
Und glaubt mir es ist sicher nicht besser, wenn man auf seinem Blog über Putzmittel philosophiert. Na, ich habe Glück, die Zeit hat für mich gearbeitet: Alt bin ich ganz von selbst geworden. Ich darf also ganz entspannt darüber schreiben. Tatsächlich habe ich auch schon früher übers Putzen auf dem Blog geschrieben. Mein Lieblingspost zu diesem Thema ist der, in dem ich die Wahrheit über Putzpartys lüfte.😂🙈 Den Post über die ganze Wahrheit zu den Putzpartys könnt ihr übrigens hier nachlesen.

Nun muss ich es unbedingt wieder tun. Ich schreibe also erneut übers Putzen. Alles begann in dem tollen Ferienhaus, das wir in Capbreton gemietet hatten.
In dem Haus in Capbreton hatte ich ein Fläschchen entdeckt, aus dem ich gerne mal ein Schlückchen genommen hätte oder mit dessen Inhalt ich unter der Dusche geplanscht hätte. Ich sage nur Rhubarb, ein ganz zarter Rhabarber-Duft. Dummerweise stand das schicke Glasfläschchen aber in der Küche bei den Putzmitteln und es war ganz eindeutig, dass nur Geschirr damit planschen durfte. 😩 Wenig später habe ich noch ein weiteres Fläschchen im Badezimmer entdeckt: Rosemary, Lemon and Juniper Berry Aroma. Damit durfte ich aber auch nicht duschen, nein, die Fliesen, das Waschbecken und der Rest vom Badezimmer waren diejenigen, die damit verwöhnt werden sollten. Menno. Ich hatte mal ganz kurz in Erwähnung gezogen, nur noch von Hand zu spülen oder gar einen gründlichen Frühlingsputz in dem Haus durchzuführen. Das Haus war allerdings blitzblank, ich war wohl nicht die Erste mit dieser Idee.

Colt&Willow stand auf den Flaschen und bei meiner Recherche hatte ich ganz schnell raus, dass es sich um umweltfreundliche Putzmittel handelt. Colt and Willow ist ein kleines Familienunternehmen, dass diese umweltfreundlichen und pflanzen basierten Reinigungsmittel herstellt. Die Reinigungsmittel sind biologisch abbaubar und duften einfach himmlisch. Ich hatte ja schon das Vergnügen in dem Haus mal einen Kochtopf damit zu shampoonieren und auch das Waschbecken hatte ich zwischendurch mal liebevoll damit zum Glänzen gebracht. 🤭

Ich wusste also dieses Mal schon, dass die Colt and Willow Produkte gut sind und bin kein großes Risiko eingegangen, als wir ein Starter-Set bestellt hatten. Die Reinigungsmittel riechen so gut, wie ich sie in Erinnerung hatte. Ich würde behaupten, das sind die besten Reinigungsmittel, die ich je hatte.

Ich feier die Tage Geburtstag nach. Ich glaube, ich veranstalte ne Putzparty. 🤣🍾🥂🍹

And believe me, it’s certainly no better if you philosophize about cleaning products on your blog. Well, I’m lucky, time has worked for me: I got old all by myself. So I’m allowed to write about it in a relaxed way. In fact, I’ve written about cleaning on the blog before, too. Now I really need to do it again. It all started in the amazing vacation home we rented in Capbreton.
In the house in Capbreton I had discovered a bottle from which I would have liked to take a sip or with whose contents I would have liked to splash in the shower. I only say Rhubarb, a very delicate rhubarb scent. Unfortunately, the fancy glass bottle was in the kitchen with the cleaning products and it was quite clear that only dishes were allowed to splash with it. 😩 A little later I discovered another bottle in the bathroom: Rosemary, Lemon and Juniper Berry Aroma. But I wasn’t allowed to shower with it either, no, the tiles, the sink and the rest of the bathroom were the ones to be pampered with it. Menno. I had once very briefly considered only washing dishes by hand or even doing a thorough spring cleaning in the house. The house was spotless though, I guess I wasn’t the first with that idea.

Colt&Willow was written on the bottles and during my research I quickly found out that these are environmentally friendly cleaning products. Colt and Willow is a small family business that makes these eco-friendly and plant-based cleaning products. The cleaning products are biodegradable and smell simply heavenly. I already had the pleasure in the house times to shampoo a saucepan with it and also the sink I had in between times lovingly brought to shine with it. 🤭
So this time I already knew that the Colt and Willow products were good and didn’t take a big risk when we ordered a starter set. The cleaners smell as good as I remembered. I would argue they are the best cleaners I have ever had.

I’m celebrating after birthday the days, I think I’ll arrange a cleaning party.🤣🍾🥂🍹

Ist die Katze aus dem Haus, tanzen die Mäuse auf dem Tisch. Das ist ein altes Sprichwort und bekanntlich ist an denen immer was dran! Meine sehr verehrten Herren, heute lüfte ich das größte Geheimnis der Frauenwelt schlechthin. Das Geheimnis der Putzparty! Vor vielen Jahren wurde der „Graue-Maus-Putzparty-Mythos“ gestreut, um die Wahrheit zu verschleiern. Schon Tupperware-Parties waren nicht tatsächlich Tupperware-Parties. Wenn diese auch eher politische Zwecke erfüllten, so geht es bei Putzpartys in Wahrheit um ungehemmten Spaß. Spaß wie: hemmungsloses Tanzen auf dem Tisch, mit High Heels oder auch ohne, aber unbedingt zu lauter Musik. Auf Putzpartys fließt Prosecco in Strömen und hübsche neue Kleidchen werden eigens dafür angeschafft. Wir Frauen brauchen keine Junggesellinnenabschiede, um Spaß zu haben! Nein, wir verabreden uns zum Putzen! Die vorgeführten Staubsauger zu utopisch hohen Preisen dienen einzig und allein dem Zweck, die laute Musik zu übertönen. Und die ollen überteuerten Putzlappen, die „Mutti“ mit nach Hause bringt, dienen der Vereitelung der Kosten für High Heels, Kleider und Prosecco. So meine Herren sieht die Wahrheit aus. Also Obacht, wenn „Mutti“ sagt: Schaaaaaatz ich gehe nächste Woche zur Putzparty. 😈

The presented vacuum cleaners, at utopian high prices, serve only the purpose to drown out the loud music. And the old, overpriced cleaning rags that „mummy“ brings home serve to conceal the costs of high heels, clothes and prosecco. That, gentlemen, is the truth. So be careful when „Mummy“ says: „I’m going to a cleaning party next week. 😈
