Zum Geburtstag habe ich eine Duftkerze bekommen. Eine Cereria Molla 1899 Duftkerze „Santal & Tonka“. Ehrlich gesagt: Cereria Molla 1899 hatte ich vorher noch nie gehört, aber der Duftkerzenmarkt ist ja auch riesig. Es ist schier unmöglich, jede Marke zu kennen, die Duftkerzen herstellt.
Allen, die sich häufig in Spanien aufhalten, könnte Cereria Molla 1899 allerdings ein Begriff sein. Wie gesagt, ich kannte die Marke nicht und bin ziemlich begeistert von meiner neuen Duftkerze.

Besonders gut gefällt mir das schlichte schwarze Design der Duftkerze. Damit ist sie der perfekte Deko-Buddy für pinteresttaugliche Couchtisch-Dekorationen mit Coffee Table Books. Oder sagen wir: die perfekte Dekokerze für den Couchtisch.
Aber sie ist natürlich nicht nur schön und dekorativ, sondern sie riecht auch ganz wunderbar. Der Duft „Santal & Tonka“ ist ganz zart und pudrig. Und obwohl der Duft so zart ist, riecht der ganze Raum danach, wenn die Kerze brennt. Ich muss gestehen, ich bin ein bisschen verliebt in diesen Duft.
Ich habe gesehen, dass es von „Santal & Tonka“ auch ein Bodyspray gibt, und ich glaube, das werde ich mir ebenfalls noch bestellen.

Wie die Cereria Molla 1899 Duftkerze brennt

Davon einmal abgesehen brennt meine Cereria Molla 1899 Duftkerze auch ganz hervorragend. Ich habe eine Drei-Docht-Kerze geschenkt bekommen, und sie brennt absolut perfekt. Sie bildet keine Löcher, die Dochte ertrinken nicht – alles ist, wie es sein soll.
Auch die Brenndauer ist hervorragend. Die Kerze hat schon viele Stunden ihren Dienst getan, und ich hatte wirklich lange Freude daran. Und ich darf mich auch weiterhin noch auf viele Stunden mit ihr freuen.

Das Einzige, was ich regelmäßig mache: den Docht trimmen. Sprich: mit einer Dochtschere das Schwarze vom Docht abschneiden. Aber das sollte man bei Duftkerzen ja ohnehin regelmäßig machen. Darüber habe ich in meinem Beitrag über die Dochtschere für Kerzen schon einmal berichtet.

I received a scented candle for my birthday. A Cereria Molla 1899 scented candle in “Santal & Tonka”. To be honest, I had never heard of Cereria Molla 1899 before, but the scented candle market is huge. It is almost impossible to know every brand that makes scented candles.
However, for anyone who spends a lot of time in Spain, Cereria Molla 1899 might be a familiar name. As I said, I did not know the brand before, and I am quite thrilled with my new scented candle.

What I particularly like is the simple black design of the scented candle. It makes it the perfect little decor buddy for Pinterest-worthy coffee table decorations with coffee table books. Or, let’s say: the perfect decorative candle for the coffee table.

But of course, it is not only beautiful and decorative, it also smells wonderful. The scent “Santal & Tonka” is very soft and powdery. And even though the scent is so delicate, the whole room smells of it when the candle is burning. I have to admit, I am a little in love with this fragrance.

I have seen that there is also a body spray in the “Santal & Tonka” scent, and I think I might have to order that as well.

Apart from that, my Cereria Molla 1899 scented candle also burns beautifully. I was given a three-wick candle, and it burns absolutely perfectly. It does not tunnel, the wicks do not drown – everything is exactly as it should be.
The burn time is also excellent. The candle has already done its job for many hours, and I have enjoyed it for quite a long time. And I can still look forward to many more hours with it.

The only thing I do regularly is trim the wick. In other words: I cut off the black part of the wick with a wick trimmer. But that is something you should do regularly with scented candles anyway. I have already written about this in my post about the wick trimmer for candles.

Mein Wohnzimmer ist wie ein Chamäleon. Es ist absolut anpassungsfähig. Keine Farbe und kein Material sind unmöglich. Ich will Samt – kein Thema. Ich will Rosa – kein Problem. Ich will Frottee – auch gut. Ich will Pompoms – unbedingt! Und so könnte ich stundenlang weitermachen. Meinem Wohnzimmer steht quasi alles.

Sanfte Naturtöne, saftiges Grün und ein paar niedliche Olivenblätter dazu. Und was soll ich euch sagen, mein Chamäleon-Wohnzimmer hat sich angepasst und in eine schattige, erfrischende Oase verwandelt, in der es sich an heißen Tagen herrlich aushalten lässt. Und es gibt sogar Pompoms 🤩.

Es ist einfach himmlisch, sich in dem weichen Kissenberg aus Dekoria-Kissen versinken zu lassen und ich schwöre, man will nie wieder aufstehen …

My living room is like a chameleon. It is absolutely adaptable. No color and no material are impossible. I want velvet – no issue. I want pink – no problem. I want terry cloth – also fine. I want pompoms – absolutely! And I could go on like this for hours. Just about anything fits in my living room.

Soft natural tones, lush greenery and a few sweet olive leaves to boot. And what can I say, my chameleon living room has adapted and transformed into a shady, refreshing oasis that is wonderful to be in hot days. And there are even pompoms 🤩.

It’s simply heavenly to sink into the soft mountain of Dekoria pillows, and I swear you never want to get up again …

Ich bin nicht so der Rosa Typ. Barbie und Prinzessin Lillifee müssen ohne mich klarkommen und ehrlich gesagt ist die Schmalzbacke Ken auch nicht so mein Fall. 😂🙈 Und versprochen, das sage ich jetzt nicht nur, weil ich früher nie eine Barbie bekommen habe, wie auch wir haben im Osten gewohnt.

Zurück zum Thema Rosa. Normalerweise laufe ich in Deko-Shops immer ganz entspannt an Rosa vorbei, direkt zu Türkis und bisher hatte ich auch nie das Bedürfnis nach rosa Deko. Daher war ich auch ein bisschen über mich selbst verwundert, als ich mich dabei erwischt habe, wie ich rosa Samtkissen für unser Sofa zusammengestellt habe. Gar nicht so übel. Die Rosa-Töne wären von Barbie und Prinzessin Lillifee vermutlich auch nicht so einfach als echtes Rosa durchgewunken worden, aber ich bin ja im Rosa-Anfänger-Stadium 🤷‍♀️. Allerdings befürchte ich, dass ich Barbie und Prinzessin Lillifee sofort untreu werde, sofern ich Kissenhüllen im perfekten Türkis aus Samt oder Frottee finde. (Mein Sternzeichen ist halt Meerjungfrau.)

Bis ich also das perfekte Türkis ergattere, gefällt mir mein Anfänger-Rosa ziemlich gut, und die Samtkissen, die übrigens mal wieder von Dekoria stammen, sind wirklich schön weich.

PS: Bei Dekoria gibt es die Samtkissen übrigens gefühlt in tausend Variationen, Größen und Farben: quadratisch, rechteckig, rund, gesteppt, mit Knopf, mit Pom Poms und gemustert. Alles, was das Herz begehrt.

I’m not the pink type. Barbie and Princess Lillifee have to get along without me and honestly Ken is also not my type. 😂🙈 And I promise, I’m not just saying that now because I never used to get a Barbie, as well we lived in the socialist East part of Germany the GDR 🤷‍♀️.

Back to the subject of pink. Normally I run in decoration stores always quite relaxed past pink, directly to turquoise and so far I also never had the need for pink decoration. Therefore, I was also a bit surprised at myself when I caught myself putting together pink velvet pillows for our sofa. Not bad at all. The shades of pink probably wouldn’t have been easily waved through as true pink by Barbie and Princess Lillifee either, but I’m in the pink beginner stage 🤷‍♀️. However, I’m afraid I’ll be immediately unfaithful to Barbie and Princess Lillifee, provided I find pillowcases in the perfect turquoise in velvet or terrycloth. (My zodiac sign is just mermaid.)

But until I get hold of the perfect turquoise, I quite like my beginner pink, and the velvet pillows, which by the way are once again from Dekoria, are really nice and soft.

Manchmal stelle ich mir vor, was nötig wäre, damit ein Raum eine ganz andere Wirkung bekommt. Soll ich euch was sagen? Als ehemalige Dekorateurin und Stylistin kann ich euch sagen: Dafür braucht es gar nicht viel.
Ihr müsst keine neuen Möbel kaufen, keine neuen Vorhänge und auch keine neuen Teppiche. Natürlich kann man mit Vorhängen und Teppichen viel erreichen, aber auch mit kleinen Dingen könnt ihr einem Raum eine komplett andere Wirkung geben.

Nehmen wir das Wohnzimmer. Ich wollte es gemütlich haben, aber auch irgendwie frisch. Samt beispielsweise ist ein Garant für Gemütlichkeit. Fell ebenso. Da kann man eigentlich nicht viel falsch machen, damit wird es einfach gemütlich. Und das frische Gefühl erreichen wir ganz einfach mit Farbe. In diesem Fall eignen sich kühle Farben, zum Beispiel Blautöne.

Also habe ich meine blauen Samtkissen rausgekramt, das Fell ausgeschüttelt und ein wenig gebürstet. Meine liebste Kuscheldecke habe ich auch noch mit aufs Sofa geworfen. Fertig ist die Gemütlichkeit.
Beim Rumkramen sind mir dann noch meine blauen Gläser (Affiliate Link) in die Hände gefallen, die ich ein wenig vernachlässigt hatte. Die Gläser stammen natürlich wie immer von Dekoria. Sie sind aus dickem, geschliffenem Glas gefertigt, in dem sich das Licht wunderschön bricht. Mit ein paar Zitronen dazu wirkt das Ganze direkt noch frischer, ein bisschen wie Amalfi Coast auf dem Wohnzimmertisch 😂🍋. Wirklich schön.

Sometimes I wonder what it would take to give a room a completely different feel. Shall I tell you something? As a former decorator and stylist, I can tell you: it really does not take much.
You do not need to buy new furniture, new curtains or new rugs. Of course, curtains and rugs can make a big difference, but even with small things, you can give a room a completely different effect.

Let’s take the living room. I wanted it to feel cozy, but somehow also fresh. Velvet, for example, is a guarantee for coziness. Fur as well. You can hardly go wrong with that, it simply makes everything feel cozy. And we can create that fresh feeling very easily with color. In this case, cool colors work well, for example shades of blue.

So I pulled out my blue velvet cushions, shook out the fur and brushed it a little. I also threw my favorite cozy blanket onto the sofa. And there it was, instant coziness.
While rummaging around, I also found my blue glasses (affiliate link), which I had neglected a little. The glasses are, of course, from Dekoria, as always. They are made of thick, cut glass in which the light breaks beautifully. With a few lemons added, the whole thing immediately feels even fresher, a bit like Amalfi Coast on the living room table 😂🍋. Really beautiful.

Der Winter steht vor der Tür und so habe ich das Wohnzimmer in eine winterliche Kuschelzone verwandelt.
Ich bleibe auch in diesem Jahr vorerst Fell und Samt treu. Insbesondere die „gemischten“ blauen Samtkissen liebe ich zu unserem braunen Ledersofa. Eine kuschelige Decke und Kerzen sind dann quasi das Topping. Weihnachtskram kommt mir noch nicht ins Haus, vielleicht mal eine Lichterkette.

Aus Marokko habe ich mir ein paar ganz einfache Teegläser als Windlichter mitgebracht, die habe ich in Marokko in irgendeinem Restaurant als Deko gesehen und das Ganze für sehr schön befunden. Wem es gefällt: Diese Teegläser bekommt in Deutschland übrigens auch in vielen Läden. Die Teegläser geben auch ein schönes Geschenk ab.

Und dann bin ich noch auf meine neuen Tassen recht stolz. Ich hatte gehofft, dass ich solche Becher in Marrakesch ergattere und wer suchet, der findet.
In der Medina in Marrakesch bin ich tatsächlich fündig geworden und sogar das lästige „Rumgehandle“ war mit dem Verkäufer ziemlich witzig. Warum er mir nicht glauben wollte, dass ich keine sieben Kinder habe, weiß ich allerdings bis heute nicht.
Die Becher gab es in allen möglichen Farben, aber ich wollte unbedingt weiß. Ich habe ja diesen Tick, dass mir bestimmte Getränke aus farbigen Gläsern und Bechern nicht schmecken. Der Verkäufer hat uns auf unseren Handel noch einen roten Becher geschenkt, aus dem mir Kaffee natürlich wieder nicht schmeckt, obwohl ich den Becher schön finde. Ich versuche es mal mit Glühwein in dem roten Becher, vielleicht wird mir dann weihnachtlicher zumute.

Winter is just around the corner, so I’ve turned the living room into a cozy little winter hideaway. This year I’m still sticking with fur and velvet—especially those ‘mixed’ blue velvet cushions that I absolutely love against our brown leather sofa. Add a soft throw and a few candles, and you’ve basically got the perfect topping. Christmas stuff hasn’t made it into the house yet—maybe a string of lights at most.

From Morocco I have brought me a few very simple tea glasses as lanterns, I have seen in Morocco in some restaurant as decoration and found the whole thing very beautiful. Who likes it: These tea glasses gets in Germany and France, by the way, also in many stores. The tea glasses also make a nice gift.

And then I’m still quite proud of my new cups. I had hoped to get hold of such cups in Marrakech and who searches, finds.
In the medina in Marrakech I actually found and even the annoying „rumgehandle“ was quite funny with the seller. Why he did not want to believe me that I do not have seven children, I do not know, however, to this day.
The cups came in all sorts of colors, but I really wanted white. I have this tic that I don’t like certain drinks from colored glasses and cups. The seller gave us on our trade still a red cup, from which I coffee of course again does not taste, although I find the cup beautiful. I’ll try it with mulled wine in the red cup, maybe I’ll feel more Christmassy.

Da ich ja schon groß bin und mich deshalb (leider) immer benehmen muss, habe ich mich natürlich nicht in das große Bett im Laden von Les Bohémiens gekuschelt und dort die Kissen geknuddelt. (Ich berichtete im letzten Post hier).

So richtig schlimm ist das tatsächlich auch nicht, dass ich mich zusammenreißen musste, denn ich habs zu Hause ja auch ganz nett und schöne Kissen, die auf ihre Streicheleinheiten warten habe ich auch zu Genüge. Darunter sind übrigens auch ganz neue Kissen von Dekoria (Affiliate Link), die noch eingeknuddelt werden müssen. Und passend zu den Kissen habe ich sogar das Geschirr und wunderschöne blaue Gläser.

Zu den Gläsern habe ich ein ganz besonderes Verhältnis. Ich verrate Euch nun einen echten Tick von mir: Ich kann aus farbigen Gläsern keine Getränke mit Geschmack trinken, sofern Farbe und Geschmack nicht zusammen passen. Ich weiß, ich habe einen totalen Knall, aber Orangensaft aus einem grünen oder gelben Glas bekomme ich nicht runter.

Aber aus diesen blauen Gläsern (Affiliate Link) von Dekoria beispielsweise schmeckt mir das Wasser besonders gut, besonders erfrischend. Ich bin verrückt, ich weiß, ihr dürft es ruhig sagen, aber es ist, wie es ist. Außerdem sehen die Gläser auch noch ziemlich klasse aus und passen hervorragend zu meinem aktuellen Sommer-Style im Wohnzimmer …

Because I am already big and must therefore (unfortunately) always behave, I have of course not snuggled in the big bed in the store of Les Bohémiens and cuddled the pillows there. (I reported in the last post here).

So really bad is actually not that I had to pull myself together, because I have it at home also quite nice and beautiful pillows waiting for their caresses I also have enough. Among them, by the way, are also brand new pillows from Dekoria (affiliate link), which still need to be cuddled. And matching the pillows I even have the dishes and beautiful blue glasses.

To the glasses I have a very special relationship. I’m going to tell you a real tick of mine: I can’t drink flavored drinks out of colored glasses unless the color and flavor go together. I know I’m a total nut, but I can’t get down orange juice from a green or yellow glass.

But from these blue glasses from Dekoria, for example, the water tastes especially good to me, especially refreshing. I’m crazy, I know, feel free to say it, but it is like it is. In addition, the glasses also look pretty great and fit perfectly with my current summer style in the living room …

Ostereier färben mit Nagellack, echt jetzt? Letzte Woche bekam ich von einer großen Nummer auf Instagram und damit meine ich eine richtig große Nummer im Interior-Bereich, ein Video in meinem Feed angezeigt, in dem man lernt, Ostereier mit Nagellack zu färben. Die Kommentare darunter zeigen Begeisterung: Ohhh, das mache ich auch…
Und genau da liegt das Problem. Die große Nummer macht vor und unzählige Menschen machen nach.

Ich war wirklich genervt von soviel Verantwortungslosigkeit. Nagellack in Wasser aufzulösen, nur um dann ein paar Eier darin einzutauchen, ist echt eine absolut überflüssige Umweltsauerei, insbesondere wenn es alle machen. Außerdem gehört Lack nicht ins Abwasser. Und wenn wir dann noch die Eier, die wir essen wollen, so färben, sprechen wir auch von ungesund.

Also habe ich ganz vorbildlich versucht, Eier auf natürliche Weise zu färben. Mit Rotkohl, Blaubeeren und Kurkuma. Sandra (@fontainedecerier) hat mich sofort ausgelacht, sie hatte es wohl letztes Jahr schon versucht… Ich bin übrigens auch kläglich gescheitert. Es begann schon damit, dass ich braune Eier gekauft habe. Ende vom Lied: Meine braunen Eier gefärbt mit Rotkohl, sahen echt gruselig aus.

Also bleiben die Eier ungefärbt. So natürlich gefällt es mir momentan ohnehin am besten.

Coloring Easter eggs with nail polish, really? Last week I got from a big number on Instagram and by that I mean a really big number in the interior field, a video displayed in my feed, in which you learn to dye Easter eggs with nail polish. The comments underneath show enthusiasm: ohhh, I do that too….
And therein lies the problem. The big act leads the way and countless people follow suit.

I was really annoyed by so much irresponsibility. Dissolving nail polish in water just to dip a few eggs in it is really an absolutely unnecessary environmental mess, especially when everyone is doing it. Besides, polish doesn’t belong in wastewater. And if we then dye the eggs we want to eat like that, we’re also talking about unhealthy.

So I made a very proper attempt to dye eggs the natural way. With red cabbage, blueberries, and turmeric. Sandra (@fontainedecerier) immediately laughed at me—apparently she had already tried it last year… And I totally failed as well. It already started with the fact that I bought brown eggs. Long story short: my brown eggs dyed with red cabbage looked seriously creepy.

So the eggs stay undyed. Honestly, I like them the natural way best right now anyway.

Trotz schönstem Sonnenschein ist es hier in Nizza nun auch schon herbstlich und so mache ich es uns gemütlich. Samt, Fell und Windlichter sind meine Wahl für den Herbst, denn auch hier ist es um neunzehn Uhr stockfinster.
Irgendwie fehlt mir von diesem Jahr ein Stück, vielleicht liegt es an dem Lockdown, der hier ja relativ lange streng gehandhabt wurde.

Die blauen Samtkissen sind übrigens schon ein paar Jahre alt, aber sie passen so toll zu dem braunen Sofa und zu meinen neuen Windlichtern von PTMD Collection. Ich bin schon gespannt, wie das heute Abend im Dunkeln aussieht … Meinem Besuch, der kurz vorbeigeschaut hat hats gefallen.

Despite the beautiful sunshine, it already feels like autumn, so I’m making things cozy for us. Velvet, fur, and candle holders are my go-to choices for the season, and by seven in the evening it’s already completely dark.
The blue velvet cushions are actually a few years old, but they go so well with the brown sofa and my new candle holders from PTMD Collection.
I’m really curious to see how it all looks once it’s dark … My visitor, who stopped by for a short while, liked it.

Graue Tage sind nicht zum Jammern da. Ich versuche an solchen Tagen so wenig wie möglich über das Wetter zu meckern. Manchmal fällt es schwer, aber im Großen und Ganzen bekomme ich das ganz gut hin. Außerdem sind graue Tage auch die Tage, an denen man gar nicht traurig ist, dass man arbeiten muss. Ich nutze sie, um so viel wie möglich wegzuarbeiten und mir Luft für die schönen Tage zu schaffen.

Graue Abende sind „cozy evenings“. An diesen Abenden verwöhne ich mich mit Kerzenlicht. Ich mache es mir gemütlich und faulenze ein bisschen. Ich zünde meine Windlichter an und natürlich auch meine LED-Kerzen vor dem Kamin, über die ich hier schon einmal geschrieben habe.

Die Windlichter auf den Bildern sind übrigens von PTMD, die es leider nicht mehr gibt – ähnliche Teelichtgläser habe ich aber auch auf Amazon gefunden (Affiliate Link).

Grey days are not meant for complaining. I try to complain as little as possible about the weather on days like this. Sometimes it’s hard, but overall I manage quite well. Grey days are also the kind of days when you don’t mind having to work. I use them to get as much done as possible and create space for the beautiful days.
And grey evenings are “cozy evenings.” On those evenings, I treat myself to candlelight. I make myself comfortable and allow myself to be a little lazy. I light my lanterns and, of course, my LED candles by the fireplace, which I’ve written about here before.

By the way, the lanterns in the photos are from PTMD, which unfortunately are no longer available – but I’ve found very similar tealight holders on Amazon (affiliate link).

Also wenn ich dieses Jahr nicht perfekt auf den Herbst vorbereitet bin, dann weiß ich es auch nicht mehr. Jetzt sind bei mir auch noch die schönsten Laternen eingezogen.
Laternen im Wohnzimmer machen für mich abends einfach die schönste Stimmung. Laternen und Kerzen gleich cozy Atmosphäre. Es gibt auf meinem Blog übrigens einige Posts zu diesem Thema, wie zum Beispiel diesen über wunderschöne Windlichter.

Die hübschen Laternen, die ich hier gerade auspacke, lassen sich auf jeden Fall hervorragend mit Windlichtern aller Art kombinieren. Sie passen einfach perfekt zu meinem gemütlichen-orientalischen Deko-Mix.
Sie haben übrigens einen kleinen Trick – einen Schalter – und funktionieren mit Batterie, fast wie eine kleine Lichterkette. Ich verwende dafür übrigens gerne wiederaufladbare Akkus.

Auf den Bildern seht ihr Modelle, die ich ursprünglich von PTMD hatte. Sie waren aber sehr schnell ausverkauft und ich kann euch daher nicht sagen, wo ihr sie kaufen könnt. Ich habe aber sehr ähnliche auf Amazon entdeckt (Affiliate Link).

If I’m not perfectly prepared for autumn this year, then I really don’t know what else to do. Now the most beautiful lanterns have moved in with me as well.
Lanterns in the living room create the most beautiful atmosphere for me in the evening. Lanterns and candles equal a cozy atmosphere. By the way, I’ve shared a few posts on my blog about this topic already, for example this one about beautiful candle lights.

The pretty lanterns I’m unboxing here can definitely be combined perfectly with all kinds of candle holders. They fit just right with my cozy, slightly oriental decor mix.
They also have a little trick – a switch – and work with batteries, almost like a small string of lights. I personally prefer using rechargeable batteries.

In the photos, you can see models I originally had from PTMD. They sold out very quickly, so I can’t tell you where to buy them anymore. But I’ve found very similar ones on Amazon (affiliate link).
