Meine Oma sagte immer zum Thema Mode: „Alles kommt irgendwann wieder“ und „als ich eine junge Frau war“ … Heute bin ich so alt, dass ich das auch oft denke. Ich sage nur Buffalo Schuhe mit Plateau-Sohle und Netzkleider. Hände hoch, wer hatte auch welche.

Das Muster „Toile de Jouy“ hat diese Renaissance schon mehrfach erlebt, denn laut Wikipedia stammt es aus dem 17. Jahrhundert.
Aktuell ist „Toile de Jouy“ jedenfalls wieder ziemlich in Mode.
Ich persönlich finde es im Dekobereich schöner. Vermutlich aus nostalgischen Gründen, denn ja auch in unserem Haushalt gab es in meiner Kindheit Geschirr in diesem Stil. Unser Geschirr hatte den klassischen Rotton und wenn ich mich tief genug in die Schränke meiner Eltern hineinwage, finden sich bestimmt noch einige Stücke von damals.
Im Garten des Chambre d’hôtes „Fontaine de Cérier“ macht sich die blaue „Toile de Jouy“ Tischdecke von Dekoria (*affiliate Link) jedenfalls ganz traumhaft.

My grandma always said on the subject of fashion: „Everything comes back someday“ and „when I was a young woman“ … Today I’m so old that I often think the same. I just say Buffalo shoes with platform soles and net dresses. Hands up, who also had some.

The pattern „Toile de Jouy“ has experienced this renaissance several times, because according to Wikipedia, it dates back to the 17th century.
Currently, „Toile de Jouy“ is quite fashionable again, anyway.
Personally, I think it’s nicer in the decor area. Probably for nostalgic reasons, because yes also in our household there were dishes in this style in my childhood. Our dishes had the classic shade of red and if I venture deep enough into my parents‘ closets, I’m sure I can still find some pieces from back then.

Weiße Kissen an einem türkisblauen Pool sind fantastisch und stylisches Konzept diverser Super-Hotels. Aber wisst ihr, worauf es sich an einem türkisblauen Pool auch ganz ausgezeichnet herumlümmeln lässt? Und was dem stylischen Pool-Konzept „White“ in nichts nachsteht?
Samt und Aqua-Töne. Samt strahlt einfach Gemütlichkeit aus und steht in einem wunderbaren Kontrast zu den kalten Aqua-Farben. Meine innere Meerjungfrau kann gar nicht genug davon bekommen.

Für die Fotos an Sandras Pool habe ich die Kissen von Dekoria gedreht, gewendet, herumgetragen und manchmal auch heimlich geknuddelt. Es sieht einfach zu schön aus.

Und wer keinen Pool hat, so wie ich, muss nicht traurig sein, denn die Kissen sehen überall schön aus. Im Garten, auf dem Balkon und natürlich auch in der Wohnung. Einen Fotobeweis werde ich noch vorlegen. Versprochen.

Es gibt Dinge, von denen kann man gar nicht genug im Haus haben. Die Damen, die hier mitlesen: Schuhe und Handtaschen lasse ich heute mal außen vor. Es geht um Dinge wie Windlichter oder kleine Löffel, die sind immer zuerst aus. Mein Vater nannte das früher den Löffel-Rekord, je nach der Uhrzeit, ab wann alle kleinen Löffel schmutzig waren. Ich glaube, der Löffel-Rekord lag an einem Sonntag bei 11.00 Uhr, ohne Besuch im Haus 😂🙈.

Zurück zu den Dingen, von denen ich nicht genug haben kann. Kleine Schälchen sind definitiv auch so ein Ding. Ich habe verschiedene aus Marokko, welche passend zum Geschirr und meine neueste Schälchen-Errungenschaft stammt von Dekoria und hat sogar ein passendes Holzbrettchen dazu. In diesem Fall hat das Set einen japanischen Style mit Kirschblüten und mir fallen ungefähr tausend Sachen ein, die man darin arrangieren könnte.
Von Sojasaucen und Wakame zum Sushi, Antipasti für Gäste bis hin zu den klassischen Aperitif-Köstlichkeiten, wie Sandra und ich es in der Provence gemacht haben.

So leicht kann man seine Gäste verzaubern. Und mit den Sitzkissen von Dekoria, kann man es ohnehin überall im Handumdrehen gemütlich machen …

There are things you can’t have enough of in your house. The ladies who read along here: Shoes and handbags I leave out today times. It’s about things like lanterns or small spoons, they are always first out. My father used to call it the spoon record, depending on the time of day when all the little spoons were dirty. I think the spoon record was 11:00 on a Sunday, with no visitors in the house 😂🙈.

Back to the things I can’t have enough of. Small bowls are definitely one of those things too. I have several from Morocco, some to match the dishes, and my latest bowl acquisition is from Dekoria and even has a matching wooden board to go with it. In this case, the set has a Japanese style with cherry blossoms and I can think of about a thousand things you could arrange in it.
From soy sauces and wakame to sushi, antipasti for guests to classic aperitif delicacies like Sandra and I did in Provence.

It’s so easy to impress your guests. And with the seat cushions from Dekoria, you can make it cozy anywhere in no time anyway …

In einem Forum wurde mal gefragt, wo man in der High-Season in Nizza, Cannes und Umgebung günstig essen gehen könnte. Es gab haufenweise dumme Kommentare, warum man denn überhaupt in der High-Season in dieser Gegend Urlaub macht. Das hat mich tatsächlich ein wenig geärgert, denn „best things in life are free“!

Die tollen Beach-Clubs und Restaurants sind natürlich toll und auch ein Highlight, aber wisst ihr, was meinen Besuchern meistens am besten gefällt? Ein Beach-Picnic. Dazu benötigt man nicht viel und man kann es etwas edler gestalten wie auf meinen Fotos für Dekoria, mit richtigem Geschirr und Gläsern oder ganz simpel mit Weinflasche, Pappbecher und Pizza-Karton. Und dafür braucht man noch nicht mal einen Strand. Ein Flussufer, einen Baggersee oder einen Karpfenteich.

Glaubt mir, wer das als Typ drauf hat, verdreht den Mädels reihenweise den Kopf, auch ohne Samtkissen und Deko-Chi-Chi. Das ist für uns Fortgeschrittene …

Und eigentlich will ich euch mit diesen Bildern auch nur mal wieder daran erinnern, dass man solche Dinge sowohl im Urlaub als auch vor seiner eigenen Haustür machen kann.

In a forum was once asked where you could go in the high season in Nice, Cannes and surroundings inexpensive dining. There were heaps of stupid comments, why one makes at all in the high season in this area vacation. This actually annoyed me a bit because „best things in life are free“!

The great beach clubs and restaurants are of course great and also a highlight but do you know what my visitors usually like best? A beach picnic. You don’t need much and you can make it a little bit more stylish like on my photos for Dekoria, with real dishes and glasses or very simple with wine bottle, paper cup and pizza box. And you don’t even need a beach for that. A riverbank, a quarry pond or a carp pond.

Believe me, if you’ve got that down as a guy, you’ll turn the girls‘ heads in rows, even without velvet pillows and decorative chi-chi. This is for us advanced …

And actually, with these pictures I just want to remind you again that you can do such things both on vacation and on your own doorstep.

Der Beitrag BEACH PICNIC erschien zuerst auf Zeitgeist Living.

Ich gestehe, es gibt Fotos, die ich unbedingt mal schießen möchte. Das ist quasi meine Foto-Shooting-Bucket-List.
Auf dieser Liste stehen allerdings keine Fotos von mir auf einer Schaukel über einem Abgrund, nachdem ich eine Stunde lang an der Schaukel angestanden habe. Nein, ganz andere Fotos: Fotos wie ein Picknick am Strand oder im Kornfeld, natürlich Pinterest-tauglich.

Das Foto mit Picknick im Kornfeld konnte ich mit Sandras Hilfe schon mal abhaken, obwohl es sich tatsächlich mehr um ein Picknick im Stroh handelt, wenn man es genau nimmt.

Als ich Mal bei Sandra war (ist schon etwas her) und das frisch gemähte Feld gesehen habe, hat es mich dermaßen in den Fingern gejuckt … Und Sandra lässt sich ja auch nur zu gerne zu den wildesten Schandtaten überreden…

Nach dieser Erfahrung im Stroh kann ich jedem Stadtkind, dass mal von einer romantischen oder idyllischen Übernachtung im Stroh träumt, übrigens schon mal eins sagen: Stroh ist zum darauf liegen nicht cool, solange man kein Pferd ist! Stroh pikst ziemlich. Lasst also bloß die Finger von „romantisch im Stroh“, sofern ihr nicht so einen herrlichen Kissenberg habt wie ich. Mit Kissenberg ist es allerdings eine ziemlich coole Angelegenheit.

Und übrigens, schöne Kissen finde ich immer bei Dekoria. 😂🙊

I confess, there are photos that I really want to shoot. This is sort of my photo shoot bucket list.
On this list, however, are no photos of me on a swing over a cliff after standing in line at the swing for an hour. No, completely different photos: Photos like a picnic on the beach or in a cornfield, Pinterest-worthy, of course.

I’ve already been able to check off the picnic in the cornfield photo with Sandra’s help, although it’s actually more of a picnic in the straw, if you think about it.

When I was at Sandra’s (it’s been a while) and saw that freshly mowed field, I just got so itchy to do something… And Sandra is only too happy to be persuaded to the wildest outrages.

After this experience in the straw, I can tell every city kid who dreams of a romantic or idyllic overnight stay in the straw, by the way, already one thing: Straw is not cool to lie on, as long as you are not a horse! Straw is quite prickly. So just keep your hands off romantic in the straw, unless you have such a wonderful pillow mountain like me. With pillow mountain, though, it’s a pretty cool affair.

By the way, I always find beautiful pillows at Dekoria. Oops 😂🙈

Habe ich schon mal erzählt, dass meine Freundin Sandra „Fontaine de Cérier“ unglaublich gut kochen kann? Wann immer ich bei ihr bin, versuche ich, sie zu überreden, etwas Schönes zu kochen. Das geht in etwa so:
Sandraaaaa (mit 17 aaaaa, so wie in Duuuuuhuuu)? Sollen wir mal dieses oder jenes kochen? Sandra lacht dann und ich muss gestehen zu Recht, denn von WIR kochen kann kein Stück die Rede sein. Denn wenn WIR kochen, dann kocht Sandra und ich versuche nicht im Weg zu stehen und obendrein nichts kaputtzumachen. Ich bin übrigens sehr gut darin, beim Spülen Gläser zu zerstören, weshalb ich auch nicht jedes Glas bei Sandra anfassen darf.

Aber weil es ja auch Dinge gibt, die ich richtig gut kann, erledige ich solche Dinge, wenn WIR gemeinsam kochen. Ich decke beispielsweise den Tisch. Ich will nicht eingebildet klingen, aber das kann ich wirklich gut. Mit hübschem Geschirr geht das übrigens besonders einfach. Dieses hübsche Geschirr stammt übrigens von Dekoria und weil das alles so schön aussah, habe ich gleich noch eintausend Bilder gemacht. So stand ich wenigstens nicht in der Küche im Weg.

Have I ever told you that Sandra can cook incredibly well? Whenever I am with her, I try to persuade her to cook something nice. It goes something like this:
Sandraaaaa (with 17 aaaaa)? Should we cook this or that? Sandra laughs then and I must confess rightly, because from WE can not be a piece of the speech. When WE cook, Sandra cooks and I try not to get in the way and on top of that not to break anything. By the way, I’m very good at destroying glasses when washing up, which is why I’m not allowed to touch every glass at Sandra’s house.

But since there are actually a few things I’m really good at, I save them for when WE cook together. For example, I set the table. I don’t want to sound full of myself, but that’s something I’m genuinely good at. And with pretty dishes, it’s honestly a breeze. By the way, this pretty tableware is from Dekoria and because it all looked so nice, I took a thousand pictures right away. So at least I was not in the way in the kitchen.

Ich würde ja gerne einen sinnvollen Text verfassen oder einen witzigen Bullshit, aber nach nichts von beidem steht mir derzeit der Sinn. Und wenn man nichts zu sagen hat, sagt man halt auch besser einfach mal nichts.
Aber ich habe ein paar Schöne Bilder für euch von meinen aktuellen Lieblingsgläsern. Die sind schon etwas länger in meinem Besitz und ich glaube, sie sind auch schon mal auf dem Blog aufgetaucht, aber eben nicht so richtig.

Diese wunderschönen Gläser von Dekoria sind bei mir etwas untergegangen, weil ich sie im Schrank so stehen hatte, dass ich sie nicht sehen konnte. Ein großer Fehler. Das habe ich jetzt erst einmal geändert. Die Gläser sind nämlich toll. Sie sind aus dickem Glas, fühlen sich klasse an und durch den „Schliff“ glitzern sie in der Sonne. Ich glaube, dass sich auch Desserts und kleine Vorspeisen super darin machen. Das werde ich die Tage mal ausprobieren.

I would like to write a meaningful text or a funny bullshit, but I don’t feel like either at the moment. And if you have nothing to say, you just better just say nothing.
But I have some nice pictures for you of my current favorite glassware. They’ve been in my possession for a bit longer and I think they’ve also appeared on the blog before, but just not really.

These beautiful glasses from Dekoria have been a bit lost on me because I had them in my closet so I couldn’t see them. A big mistake. I have now changed that for the time being. The glasses are great. They are made of thick glass, feel great and the „cut“ makes them sparkle in the sun. I think that desserts and small appetizers also make super in it. I will try that out the days.

Da ich ja schon groß bin und mich deshalb (leider) immer benehmen muss, habe ich mich natürlich nicht in das große Bett im Laden von Les Bohémiens gekuschelt und dort die Kissen geknuddelt. (Ich berichtete im letzten Post hier).

So richtig schlimm ist das tatsächlich auch nicht, dass ich mich zusammenreißen musste, denn ich habs zu Hause ja auch ganz nett und schöne Kissen, die auf ihre Streicheleinheiten warten habe ich auch zu Genüge. Darunter sind übrigens auch ganz neue Kissen von Dekoria (Affiliate Link), die noch eingeknuddelt werden müssen. Und passend zu den Kissen habe ich sogar das Geschirr und wunderschöne blaue Gläser.

Zu den Gläsern habe ich ein ganz besonderes Verhältnis. Ich verrate Euch nun einen echten Tick von mir: Ich kann aus farbigen Gläsern keine Getränke mit Geschmack trinken, sofern Farbe und Geschmack nicht zusammen passen. Ich weiß, ich habe einen totalen Knall, aber Orangensaft aus einem grünen oder gelben Glas bekomme ich nicht runter.

Aber aus diesen blauen Gläsern (Affiliate Link) von Dekoria beispielsweise schmeckt mir das Wasser besonders gut, besonders erfrischend. Ich bin verrückt, ich weiß, ihr dürft es ruhig sagen, aber es ist, wie es ist. Außerdem sehen die Gläser auch noch ziemlich klasse aus und passen hervorragend zu meinem aktuellen Sommer-Style im Wohnzimmer …

Because I am already big and must therefore (unfortunately) always behave, I have of course not snuggled in the big bed in the store of Les Bohémiens and cuddled the pillows there. (I reported in the last post here).

So really bad is actually not that I had to pull myself together, because I have it at home also quite nice and beautiful pillows waiting for their caresses I also have enough. Among them, by the way, are also brand new pillows from Dekoria (affiliate link), which still need to be cuddled. And matching the pillows I even have the dishes and beautiful blue glasses.

To the glasses I have a very special relationship. I’m going to tell you a real tick of mine: I can’t drink flavored drinks out of colored glasses unless the color and flavor go together. I know I’m a total nut, but I can’t get down orange juice from a green or yellow glass.

But from these blue glasses from Dekoria, for example, the water tastes especially good to me, especially refreshing. I’m crazy, I know, feel free to say it, but it is like it is. In addition, the glasses also look pretty great and fit perfectly with my current summer style in the living room …

Könnt ihr euch etwas Schöneres vorstellen, als nach einem erfrischenden Bad in einem Pool in der Provence, wo die Zikaden singen, einen kleinen Aperitif an einer Poolbar einzunehmen?

Ich liebe Sandras (@fontainedecerier) kleines Poolhouse mitten in der Provence. Dort gibt es immer ein schattiges Plätzchen, und es ist regelmäßig etwas anders dekoriert. Dieser Style ist gerade besonders schön: Korb meets Leinen und Monstera von „Dekoria“. Ganz nach meinem Geschmack.

Die Leinenkissen von „Dekoria“ sind aber auch einfach zu praktisch. Sie passen überall hin, und mit ihnen verwandelt man ein kleines Tischchen im Nu in eine kleine Bank. Die passenden Leinenservietten runden das Bild natürlich perfekt ab. Und diese Monstera-Kissen gehören ja sowieso zu meinen absoluten Favoriten.

Ich habe meine geliebten Monstera-Kissen übrigens selbst bei „Dekoria“ gekauft und würde sie immer wieder kaufen. Tatsächlich habe ich schon mal überlegt, ob ich aus dem Stoff nicht etwas Schönes nähen könnte – wenn ich mich denn endlich mal für eine Nähmaschine entschieden habe.

Can you imagine anything better than enjoying a little apéritif at a pool bar in Provence, after a refreshing swim while the cicadas are singing?

I absolutely love Sandra’s (@fontainedecerier) little pool house in the heart of Provence. There’s always a shady spot, and the décor changes regularly. Right now, the style is especially beautiful: rattan meets linen and Monstera from „Dekoria.“ Just my taste.

The linen cushions from „Dekoria“ are simply so practical. They fit in anywhere, and with them you can turn a small side table into a little bench in no time. The matching linen napkins complete the look perfectly. And those Monstera cushions are among my absolute favorites anyway.

I actually bought my beloved Monstera cushions from „Dekoria“ myself, and I’d purchase them again any time. I’ve even thought about using the fabric to sew something lovely – if I would finally just decide on a sewing machine.

Um seine Gäste zum Staunen zu bringen, braucht man generell nicht viel. Es sind nicht die luxuriösesten Kerzenständer und teuersten Blumengestecke nötig, um eine besondere Atmosphäre für ein Lunch oder Dinner zu kreieren.
Es gibt da so eine Fernsehsendung, in der es eigentlich ums Kochen geht, aber ein bisschen auch immer um die Tischdekoration. Ich schwöre euch, da würde ich gerne mal dazwischenhauen und aufräumen. Nein, nein, nein: Der ganze Killefitt muss nicht sein!

Das Geheimnis eines stilvollen Tisches beginnt mit einer guten Tischdecke, und die kann ein Leben lang halten. Ich als ehemalige Dekorateurin würde auch empfehlen, noch in passende Stoffservietten zu investieren. Damit ist auch schon die Grundlage geschaffen, um aus einem normalen Esstisch einen Tisch zu zaubern, an dem ihr mit euren Gästen einen unvergesslichen Abend verbringen könnt.

Nehmen wir als Beispiel den folgenden Tisch! Könnt ihr euch vorstellen, was für ein Lunch hier stattgefunden hat? Die lachenden Gäste, glücklich mit einem einfachen Salat und frischem Brot? Dazu ein guter Wein und als Dessert die ersten süßen Erdbeeren des Sommers? Und ist der Tisch nicht ein Traum? Ich wette, der eine oder andere hätte ihn fotografiert.

Das Wichtigste Accessoire für diesen natürlichen Look ist die Leinendecke. Diese stammt von „Dekoria“ und man kann sie sogar in der passenden Größe anfertigen lassen. Für diesen natürlichen Tisch schmückt ihr die Servietten einfach mit ein paar Gräsern oder Kräutern. Und wenn es draußen windig ist, kann man das Besteck ruhig auch mal auf der Serviette anordnen.
In die Mitte des Tisches könnt ihr eine Ranke legen. In diesem Fall war es Wein, aber Efeu geht auch immer. Dazu verteilt einfach ein paar Tomaten auf dem Tisch, wie in diesem Fall. Aber man kann zu jeglichem Gemüse oder auch zu Äpfeln oder Birnen greifen, was farblich harmoniert und keine Fliegen anzieht.
Noch Essig, Öl und Wein auf den Tisch – und fertig ist die mediterrane Tischdekoration. Wer Essig und Öl in hübschen Flaschen aufbewahrt, hat es in diesem Fall noch einfacher. Das schöne schwarze Geschirr auf unserem Tisch stammt übrigens auch aus dem „Dekoria“-Onlineshop.

There’s this TV show that’s actually about cooking, but it always seems to focus a bit on table decoration too. Honestly, I’d love to step in and tidy things up. No, no, no – all that fuss just isn’t necessary!

The secret to a stylish table starts with a good tablecloth, and that can last a lifetime. As a former decorator, I’d also recommend investing in matching cloth napkins. That already lays the foundation for turning an ordinary dining table into a place where you and your guests can enjoy an unforgettable evening.

Take the following table as an example! Can you imagine the kind of lunch that might have taken place here? Guests laughing, happy with a simple salad and fresh bread? A good wine to go with it, and for dessert, the first sweet strawberries of summer? And isn’t the table itself a dream? I bet more than one guest would have snapped a photo.
