Die schönsten Dinner hatten wir in Venedig auf der Terrasse des Five Star Hotels „Palazzo Bauer“. Man sitzt direkt am Wasser mit Blick auf die Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari und sieht den Gondeln beim Schaukeln zu. Ein Traum.
Wir waren mehrfach da, weil es so ein wunderschönes Plätzchen war…

Nachdem wir an unserem ersten Wochenende in Venedig über einige Tische gezogen worden sind, hatten wir das Gefühl, bereit für eine weitere Touristen-Falle zu sein: für eine Gondelfahrt.

Überall in Venedig schaukeln die hübschen Gondeln in den Kanälen und die Gondolieri warten in ihren gestreiften Shirts auf Touristen. In Ermangelung der sonstigen Touristenmassen sind derzeit allerdings eine ganze Menge Gondeln ungenutzt und abgedeckt.

Trotz der schwierigen Zeit hatte ich allerdings das Gefühl, dass die meisten Gondolieri etwas lustlos bei der Sache sind. Viele telefonieren die ganze Zeit mit Kopfhörern, obwohl sie „Gäste“ haben. Etwas ärgerlich, denn so eine dreißigminütige Gondelfahrt kostet satte 90,00 EUR.

Nichtsdestotrotz fand ich es herrlich und bereue keine Minute davon. In vielen der kleinen Kanäle waren wir vollkommen alleine und es war ganz still, man hörte nur das leise Plätschern des Wassers. Ich habe in den dreißig Minuten ungefähr tausend Fotos und fünfzig Videos gemacht. Ich würde es jederzeit wieder machen und kann es nur empfehlen.

After we were ripped off on our first weekend in Venice, we had the feeling to be ready for another tourist trap : for a gondola ride.

Everywhere in Venice, the pretty gondolas are rocking in the canals and the gondolieri are waiting in their striped shirts for tourists. But because of the lack of the tourist masses, there are currently a lot of gondolas unused and covered.

But despite of the difficult time, I had the feeling that most of the gondolieri are a little listless in their work. Many gondolieri phone the whole time with headphones, although they have „guests“. A little angry, as such a thirty minutes gondolieri trip costs a full 90,00 EUR.

However, I found it wonderful and I don’t regret a single minute of it. In many of the small channels we were completely alone and it was very quiet, one only heard the soft splashing of the water. I took about one thousand photos and fifty videos in the thirty minutes. I would do it again any time.

Seit das Smartphone Einzug in mein Leben gehalten hat, trage ich eigentlich keine Uhr mehr. Wenn ich nach der Uhrzeit schaue, zücke ich mein Smartphone. Das hat einen ganz entscheidenden Nachteil: Ich schaue nach allem, nur nicht nach der Uhrzeit. Oder ich habe nach der Uhrzeit geschaut und muss nach reichlich Gedaddel erneut nach der Uhrzeit schauen, um dann erschrocken festzustellen, wie viel Zeit vergangen ist.
Ich habe deshalb entschieden, dass ich wieder eine Uhr brauche, und zwar eine ganz normale Uhr und keine Smartwatch, denn sonst ist Gedaddel ja wieder vorprogrammiert. Gedaddel wie noch schnell die E-Mails checken, um eventuell die Welt zu retten. Ihr wisst, was ich meine …

Ich bin schon immer ein Casio Fan und so fiel meine Wahl im Uhrcenter.de Online-Shop ziemlich schnell auf ein topaktuelles Casio Modell.

Den Uhrcenter.de Online-Shop gibt es im Übrigen schon seit dem Jahr 1999. Das muss man sich mal auf der Zunge zergehen lassen. Der erste seriöse, dokumentierte Internet-Verkauf, der über einen Online-Shop mit Kreditkarte abgewickelt wurde, ist aus dem Jahr 1994 bekannt. Somit ist Uhrcenter.de ein echter „alter Hase“ was den Onlinehandel betrifft. Das ist natürlich in der Shop-Struktur, in Sachen Service, Produktvielfalt, Auswahl an Zahlungsmöglichkeiten und Versandgeschwindigkeit zu spüren.

Mein erster Versuch, den ich selbst mit einem Online-Shop gestartet habe, war, glaube ich 2006. Das war schon relativ früh und damals haben mir auch viele davon abgeraten und es als „Quatsch“ abgetan. Ich habe es damals neben meinem Geschäft dann auch nicht stemmen können.
Aus meiner späteren eigenen Online-Shop-Erfahrung kann ich also ungefähr nachvollziehen, wie viel Arbeit, Leidenschaft und ständiges Lernen, auch rechtlicher Dinge, in diesem Shop stecken. Ich bin echt beeindruckt. Da kann ich nur bewundernd meinen Hut vor Uhrcenter.de ziehen, denn auch Uhrcenter.de hat bereits seit 1980 ein Ladengeschäft.

Meine neue türkisfarbene Baby G von Casio hat mich direkt auf meiner Reise nach Venedig begleitet und mich vermutlich davor bewahrt, das ich eine der hübschen Brücken wegen Gedaddel verpasse …

Since the smartphone has come into my life, I don’t really wear a watch anymore. When I check the time, I take out my smartphone. This has one very important disadvantage: I look at everything but not at the time. Or I have looked at the time and, after much playing, I have to look at the time again, only to find out in shock how much time has passed.
So I decided that I need a watch again, a normal watch and not a Smartwatch, because otherwise playing is pre-programmed again. Playing, like checking e-mails to save the world quickly. You know what I mean …

I’ve always been a Casio fan and so my choicein the Uhrcenter.de online shop fell pretty quickly on a very up-to-date Casio model in turquoise.

By the way, the Uhrcenter.de online shop has been around since 1999, which is something you have to let melt in mouth. The first serious, documented online sale that was made through an online shop with credit card is known from the year 1994. This makes Uhrcenter.de to be a real „old hand“ in online trading. This can be seen, of course, in the shop structure, service, product variety, choice of payment options and shipping speed.

My first experiment, which I started with an online shop myself, was, I think, in 2006. That was relatively early and at that time many people advised me against it and dismissed it as „nonsense“. At that time, I couldn’t manage it with my shop either.
So from my later own online shop experience I can roughly understand how much work, passion and constant learning, including legal things, is involved in this shop. I am really impressed. I can only take my hat off to Uhrcenter.de cause Uhrcenter.de has also had a shop since 1980.

My new Baby G from Casio directly travelled with me to Venice and probably saved me from missing one of the beautiful bridges because of playing…

Gestern Nacht haben wir noch den Film „The Tourist“ geschaut, der ja in Venedig spielt. Einer der Schauplätze des Films ist das berühmte Hotel „Danieli“, dass über eine Dachterrasse mit einem atemberaubenden Blick verfügt. Inspiriert von dem Film haben wir heute Mittag eine Pause dort eingelegt. Bellini mit View sag ich nur. So ein Päuschen auf der Dachterrasse kann ich wirklich empfehlen.

Wir haben uns übrigens angestrengt, wie im Film, die Rialto-Brücke von dort zu sehen, was natürlich nicht möglich ist … 🙈😂

Last night we watched the film „The Tourist“, which is playing in Venice. One of the locations of the movie is the famous hotel „Danieli“, which has a roof terrace with an amazing view. Inspired by the movie we had a break there this lunchtime. I just say Bellini with View. I can really recommend such a break on this roof terrace.

By the way, we tried hard, like in the movie, to see the Rialto Bridge from there, which of course is not possible … 🙈😂

Heute haben wir einen Ausflug nach Murano unternommen. Ich würde lügen, wenn ich sagen würde: Hammer. Ich fand es ehrlich gesagt sogar etwas langweilig. Aufgrund „Corona“ und wegen fehlender Touristen ist relativ viel geschlossen. Selbst dieses blaue Etwas aus Glas war eingemottet worden und auf einem Hinterhof versteckt. Dieser typische Touristen-Glas-Kitsch ist auch so gar nicht meins und einen Besuch in einer Glasfabrik brauche ich auch nicht und dann ist man doch recht schnell fertig mit Murano. In vielen Straßen und Gassen war auch niemand außer uns …

Das Schönste an unserem Ausflug, war die lange Fahrt mit dem Wassertaxi, das wir uns gegönnt hatten, weil uns die Vaporetto-Haltestelle viel zu voll war. Wir hatten uns extra erst ein Wassertaxi ab Dogenpalast genommen und „mussten“ so einmal um Venedig herum. Das war herrlich erfrischend und der Blick ein Traum.

Today we made a trip to Murano. I’d be lying if I said Awesome. To be honest, I even found it a bit boring. Because of „Corona“ and the lack of tourists a lot is closed. Even this blue glas thing had been mothballed and hidden on a backyard. This typical tourist glass kitsch is not mine at all and I don’t need a visit to a glass factory and then one is finished with Murano quite fast. In many streets and alleys there was nobody except us …

The most beautiful thing about our trip was the long trip with the water taxi, which we allowed ourselves, because the vaporetto stop was much too full for us. We first took a water taxi from the Doge’s Palace and „had to“ get around Venice. This was wonderfully refreshing and the view was a dream.
