Ich liebe Kaffee, vorzugsweise mit Milch. Dummerweise vertrage ich Milch aber nicht mehr. Nach und nach habe ich mich durch alle Milchersatz-Produkte getestet, die man kaufen kann und bin zu dem Schluss gekommen: Alle eklig 🤢 und die Yuka-App ist von den wenigsten Sorten angetan. Kaffee schwarz wäre wohl die einfachste Lösung, aber der schmeckt mir auch nicht. Ein Dilemma, denn ich liebe Kaffee. Mittlerweile mache ich mir meine Mandelmilch selber, so weiß ich, was drin ist und meine Mandelmilch ertrage ich in Kaffee noch so gerade.

Als es heiß wurde, hat Vera von „Nicest Things“ mich mit ihrem Protein-Kaffee auf eine Idee gebracht. Ich mische ein paar Eiswürfel, einen kalten Kaffee und etwas Mandelmilch mit einem Teelöffel Vanille-Proteinpulver. Das ganze gebe ich in einen Shaker und schüttle es cremig und soll ich euch was sagen, das schmeckt so was von lecker. Mein neues Suchtmittel.
Dafür wollte ich nun unbedingt noch ein gutes Protein-Pulver haben, am liebsten vegan. Aber veganes Protein-Pulver ist im Allgemeinen so was von unlecker. Ich habe noch nie ein veganes Protein-Pulver entdeckt, das schmeckt und verträglich ist.

Bei einem Abendessen mit Bekannten in Nizza habe ich Matthias von Breinbauer Rohstoffe kennengelernt. Mit seinen Proteinprodukten, die er selbst herstellt, hat er sich in Triathlon Kreisen schon einen Namen gemacht. Er versicherte mir, sein veganes Protein-Pulver wäre lecker und weil die meisten am Tisch direkt nickten, habe ich mal was bestellt. Matthias hat mir noch ein Testpaket Schoko-Protein mit ins Päckchen gepackt. Tja, was soll ich sagen. Vanille ist gut und ich mag es in meinem Protein-Kaffee – aber Schoko. OMG. Das Breinbauer „Pure Protein Schoko“ ist so gut. Ich habe mir einen Shake nach Anleitung mit Wasser gemacht und der hat geschmeckt wie flüssiger Pudding. Das ist mit Abstand das leckerste Protein-Pulver, das ich je hatte.

Und weil Barbie gerade vorbeigeschaut hat 😂🙈 und sie ja auf ihre Figur achtet, hat sie einen Barbie-Insta-tauglichen Protein-Kaffee serviert bekommen, mit rosa Blümchen und allem drum und dran.

PS: Und kommt mir jetzt nicht mit Lilien sind giftig: Taglilien sind für Menschen und Puppen nicht giftig 🤷‍♀️, also: Barbie lebt!

I love coffee, preferably with milk. Unfortunately, I can no longer tolerate milk. When it got hot, Vera from Nicest Things gave me an idea with her protein coffee. I mix a few ice cubes, a cold coffee and some almond milk with a teaspoon of vanilla protein powder. I put the whole thing in a shaker and shake it until creamy and shall I tell you what, it tastes so delicious. My new addictive substance.
I really wanted to have a good protein powder, preferably vegan. But vegan protein powder is generally so unpalatable. I have never found a vegan protein powder that tastes good.

At a dinner with acquaintances in Nice, I met Matthias from Breinbauer Rohstoffe. He has already made a name for himself in triathlon circles with his protein products, which he produces himself. He assured me that his vegan protein powder was delicious and because most of the people at the table nodded, I ordered some. Matthias also packed a test packet of chocolate protein in the package. Well, what can I say. Vanilla is good and I like it in my protein coffee – but chocolate. OMG. The Breinbauer „Pure Protein Schoko“ is so good. I made myself a shake according to the instructions with water and it tasted like liquid pudding. This is by far the tastiest protein powder I’ve ever had.

And because Barbie just dropped by 😂🙈 and we know she’s watching her figure, she was served a Barbie Insta-worthy protein coffee, pink flowers and all.

PS: And don’t tell me that lilies are poisonous: daylilies are not poisonous for humans and dolls 🤷‍♀️, so Barbie lives.

Es begann auf Fuerteventura, in einem unserer Lieblingsrestaurants. Ich wollte nach dem Essen kein Dessert und auch nicht den hundertsten Kaffee, als mir der Cocktail des Tages ins Auge fiel: Espresso Martini. Seitdem ist es um mich geschehen. Wie konnte ich Espresso Martini nur vergessen? Es ist mir schleierhaft.
Gefährliche Angelegenheit übrigens, denn ich könnte diesen Cocktail so vor mich hinschlürfen, was man natürlich besser unterlässt. Nicht nur wegen der Gesundheit, sondern weil man nach dem Schlürfen auch nicht mehr nach Hause schlurfen kann 🙈.

Fakt ist jedenfalls, dass ich mit meiner Espresso-Martini-Leidenschaft nicht alleine bin, so angesagt, wie der Cocktail zurzeit ist. Man bekommt ihn quasi überall und sogar in lecker. Sagt jetzt nicht: Ist ja auch keine Kunst. Ich habe in Frankreich schon Cocktails bekommen … Ein Beispiel für einen Caipirinha in Cannes, serviert in einem Sektglas: ein wenig Zucker, irgendein Saft und Alkohol. Farbe: Blau. Ihr versteht, dass ich bei Cocktails vorsichtig bin.

Da man für meinen Lieblingscocktail nur Eis, Espresso, Wodka und Kaffeelikör benötigt, habe ich mir das Equipment für zu Hause zugelegt – samt wunderschöner Gläser (Affiliate Link) und Mix-Set (Affiliate Link). Manche fügen noch Zuckersirup hinzu, ich hingegen mag das nicht. Ich bevorzuge ihn ganz klassisch.

Einfaches Espresso Martini Rezept

1 Teil Espresso
1 Teil Kahlúa
1 Teil Wodka
Eiswürfel

Alles mit Eis kräftig shaken und in ein schönes Glas abseihen. Drei Kaffeebohnen als Deko obendrauf sind natürlich Pflicht 😜.

Außerdem sollte man seinen Gästen so einen Espresso Martini unbedingt in einem hübschen Glas anbieten, ist ja wohl Ehrensache. Und Grund genug, sich endlich die Gläser zuzulegen, die man schon etwas länger anhimmelt 😂.

It started on Fuerteventura, in one of our favorite restaurants. I did not want dessert after dinner, nor the hundredth coffee, when the cocktail of the day caught my eye: Espresso Martini. Since then, it has happened to me. How could I have forgotten about Espresso Martini? It is a mystery to me.
Dangerous business, by the way, because I could sip Espresso Martini like that, which of course is better left undone. Not only because of your health, but also because after sipping, you can no longer shuffle home 🙈.

In any case, the fact is that I am not alone with my Espresso Martini passion, as popular as the cocktail is at the moment. You can get it almost everywhere and even in delicious. Do not say now: It is not an art. I have had cocktails in France before … An example of a Caipirinha in Cannes, served in a champagne glass: a little sugar, some juice and alcohol. Color: blue. You understand that I am cautious about cocktails.

Because all you need for an Espresso Martini is ice, espresso, vodka and coffee liqueur, I got the equipment to make it at home – including beautiful glasses and a cocktail mix set. Some people add sugar syrup, but I personally do not like that. I prefer Espresso Martini in the classic way.

Simple Espresso Martini recipe

1 part espresso
1 part Kahlúa
1 part vodka
ice cubes

Shake everything well with ice and strain into a pretty glass. Three coffee beans on top as decoration are, of course, a must 😜.

Besides, you should definitely serve your guests an Espresso Martini in a pretty glass. A matter of honor, obviously. And reason enough to finally get the glasses you have adored for quite a while 😂.

Ich habe mich ein weiters Mal aufgeopfert und den Test, den ich mit dem fantastischen Weißwein von Störrlein Krenig für euch durchgeführt habe, nun nochmals mit einem Rotwein wiederholt. Ein gelungener Versuch könnte ja auch reines Glück bedeuten. Daher habe ich für diesen Versuch auch nur die Bedingungen etwas geändert. Die Probanden, die Location und der Winzer wurden nicht verändert, einzig die herbstlichen Temperaturen sind dazugekommen. Schließlich brauchen wir für herbstliche Temperaturen einen guten Rotwein.

Außerdem schmeckt zu Wild ein Rotwein am besten und somit ist dieser erneute Test auch eine Drohung für die Wildschweine, die so gerne in Sandras Garten wühlen. Sie haben sich das Ganze auch tatsächlich so sehr aus der Nähe angeschaut, dass wir unser Gespräch vor lauter Grunzen unterbrechen mussten. Ich gebe zu, mir war das nicht ganz geheuer.
Wie @fontainedecerier die grunzenden Kolosse verscheucht hat, erzähle ich hier jetzt nicht, aber Superwoman hätte es nicht besser machen können.

Zurück zum Teil zwei des Tests, ob man mit deutschen Lebensmitteln französische Lebensart zelebrieren kann. (Test eins könnt ihr hier nachlesen.) Und auch dieses Mal sind wir uns einig, das es geht. Auch dieser wunderbare Rotwein von Störrlein Krenig ist bestens dazu geeignet. Vermutlich liegt es unter anderem daran, dass es sich bei diesem fränkischen Winzer, wie auch bei vielen französischen Winzern, um einen Familienbetrieb handelt, der mit viel Liebe und Leidenschaft geführt wird.

Und wer in seinem Frankreichurlaub normalerweise eine Domaine besucht und sich mit Wein eindeckt, der kann sich ja nun Richtung Frankenland, vielmehr in Richtung Würzburg aufmachen und bei Störrlein Krenig vorbeifahren. Ich verspreche euch, ihr werdet es nicht bereuen und obendrein ist Würzburg eine wunderschöne Stadt.

Besides, red wine goes best with game, so this new test is also a threat to the wild boars that like to dig in Sandra’s garden. They actually looked at the whole thing so closely that we had to interrupt our conversation because of all the grunting. I admit I was a little uneasy about it.
I won’t tell you how @fontainedecerier scared away the grunting giants, but Superwoman couldn’t have done it any better.

Back to part two of the test, if you can celebrate French lifestyle with German food. And this time too, we all agree that it can be done. This wonderful red wine from Störrlein Krenig is also perfectly suited to this. Probably one of the reasons for this is that this Franconian winegrower, like many French winemakers, is a family business that is run with much love and passion.

And if you normally visit a domain during your holiday in France and stock up on wine, you can now head towards Franconia, or rather towards Würzburg, and pass Störrlein Krenig. I promise you, you won’t regret it and on top of that Würzburg is a beautiful city.

Wer in Frankreich regelmäßig Urlaub macht, der liebt mit Sicherheit Abende wie diese: Abende wie aus einem Film oder wie sie in Bestsellern beschrieben werden. Abende mit den schönsten Sonnenuntergängen, laue Abende, die zum essen und lachen mit Freunden einladen und Abende mit geradezu magischem Licht.

Ich habe mal einen kleinen Test durchgeführt. Einen Test, ob man mit deutschen Lebensmitteln französische Lebensart zelebrieren kann. Das geht übrigens am einfachsten, wenn man das Wort französisch durch fränkisch ersetzt. Der Franke hat beispielsweise auch einen Parasol im Garten, im fränkischen Barasol gesprochen. Das ist doch ein guter Anfang.

Ich habe mit Franzosen und Deutschen in der Provence einen großartigen fränkischen Wein von dem Weingut Störrlein Krenig zum Aperitif geöffnet. Und wir waren uns absolut einig, dass es euch damit gelingen kann, wo auch immer ihr seid, ein ähnliches Lebensgefühl aufkommen zu lassen, wie ihr es von eurem Urlaub in Frankreich kennt.
Meine Empfehlung dazu wäre natürlich noch ein Stück guter Käse, Oliven und etwas zum Knabbern. Und wer gerne kocht, der zaubert noch eine Pissaladière dazu, so wie Sandra @fontainedecerier es für uns gemacht hat. Ein Rezept findet ihr hier.

Und wer normalerweise während seines Frankreich-Urlaubs ein Weingut besucht, der könnte doch nun dieses Franken-Weingut Störrlein Krenig besuchen und sich mit Frankenwein eindecken.

Anyone who spends their holidays regularly in France surely loves evenings like these: evenings straight out of a movie, or the kind you find described in bestselling novels. Evenings with the most beautiful sunsets, balmy nights that invite you to eat and laugh with friends, and evenings bathed in almost magical light.

I ran a little experiment: a test to see if you can celebrate the French way of life using German products. The easiest way, by the way, is to simply replace the word “French” with “Franconian.” In Franconia, for example, people also have a parasol in the garden—though pronounced “Barasol” in the local dialect. A good start, don’t you think?

In Provence, with both French and German friends, I opened a wonderful Franconian wine from the Störrlein Krenig winery for our aperitif. And we were all in absolute agreement: no matter where you are, this wine can recreate the same kind of feeling you know from your holidays in France.
My recommendation to go with it would of course be a piece of good cheese, some olives, and a little something to nibble on. And for those who love cooking, why not add a Pissaladière, just like Sandra @fontainedecerier made for us. You can find a recipe here.

Die Sommerzeit hier am Meer ist für mich die schönste Zeit des Jahres.
Am liebsten gehe ich schon morgens gegen sieben Uhr schwimmen, wenn das Wasser noch ganz klar ist und man jeden Stein auf dem Meeresgrund erkennen kann. Fast jeden Tag nehme ich mir einen Kaffee mit zum menschenleeren Strand und genieße den Morgen.

Genauso wie den frühen Morgen liebe ich die Zeit des Tages, wenn es etwas kühler wird und mein Besuch müde von der Hitze, aber auch braun gebrannt vom Strand zurückkehrt. Das ist nämlich die perfekte Zeit, um einen eiskalten Aperitif und die Erlebnisse des Tages zu teilen. Meine sind dann zwar meistens eher langweilig 😂, aber meine Gäste sind brave Zuhörer und haben meist spannendere Dinge zu erzählen.

Sandra von Fontaine de Cérier hatte den heißesten Aperitif-Tipp aus Paris parat: einen St-Germain Spritz. Dieser Spritz wird mit dem französischen Holunderblüten-Likör St-Germain (Affiliate Link) gemacht. Mein aktueller Favorite.

Just like the early morning, I love the time of day when it gets a little cooler and my guests return from the beach, tired from the heat but also beautifully tanned. This is the perfect moment to share an ice-cold aperitif and the stories of the day. Mine are usually rather boring 😂, but my guests are good listeners and mostly have more exciting things to tell.

Sandra from Fontaine de Cérier had the hottest aperitif tip from Paris ready: a St-Germain Spritz. This spritz is made with the French elderflower liqueur St-Germain (affiliate link). My current favorite.
