Seit einiger Zeit habe ich Baden mit Epsom Salz (Affiliate Link) für mich entdeckt und benutze es gerne als Badezusatz. Ich kenne es von meinem Großvater, damals nannten wir es noch Bittersalz. Mein Großvater hat das Bittersalz allerdings eingenommen und ich werde dies hier nicht weiter erläutern, denn es ist etwas unappetitlich. Ich sage nur Darmreinigung und die Sache funktionierte mit durchschlagendem Erfolg. Also Badewasser bitte nicht trinken😂🙈!

Mit normalem Kochsalz hat Bittersalz übrigens nicht viel zu tun, es handelt sich um Magnesiumsulfat – also Magnesium, Schwefel und Sauerstoff. So viel zur nachgelesenen Theorie.

Fakt ist: Baden mit Epsom Salz gilt heute als ziemlich angesagter Badezusatz. Es soll die Muskeln entspannen und wird oft mit allen möglichen Effekten in Verbindung gebracht – von „Entgiften“ bis hin zu Gewichtsverlust. Ob das alles wirklich so stimmt, kann ich nicht beurteilen. Für mich fühlt es sich einfach gut an, und allein das reicht mir schon. Außerdem ist es natürlich – und das ist ja schon mal ein Pluspunkt.

Ich füge dem Badewasser übrigens zusätzlich ein paar Tropfen Öl bei. Laut Anleitung sollte man das sogar unbedingt tun, damit die Haut nicht austrocknet. So duftet das Bad dann auch noch gut und man kann ein bisschen variieren, zum Beispiel mit Lavendelöl zur Beruhigung. Für alle, die nicht gerne baden: Baden mit Epsom Salz funktioniert übrigens auch wunderbar als Fußbad.

PS: Wer wie ich keine feste Badewanne hat – ich habe dafür eine Lösung gefunden und darüber hier geschrieben.

For some time now, I’ve been enjoying bathing with Epsom Salt (Affiliate Link) and like to use it as a bath additive. I actually know it from my grandfather—back then, we simply called it “Bittersalz.” My grandfather used to take it internally, and I’ll spare you the details here, as it’s a bit unpleasant. Let’s just say: digestive cleansing, and it worked very effectively. So please—don’t drink your bath water 😂🙈!

By the way, Epsom salt doesn’t have much in common with regular table salt. It’s magnesium sulfate—made up of magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen. That’s the theory, at least.

The fact is: bathing with Epsom salt has become quite a popular bath ritual. It’s said to help relax muscles and is often associated with all kinds of effects—from “detoxing” to weight loss. Whether any of that is actually true, I can’t really say. For me, it simply feels good, and that alone is enough. Plus, it’s natural—and that’s already a big plus.

I also like to add a few drops of oil to the bath water. According to the instructions, this is actually recommended to prevent the skin from drying out. It also makes the bath smell wonderful, and you can vary it a bit—for example, with lavender oil if you want something calming. And if you’re not someone who enjoys baths: bathing with Epsom salt also works perfectly well as a foot bath.

Vor langer Zeit habe ich beschlossen, dass ich auf meinem Blog nur über Produkte philosophieren möchte, die ich auch meiner besten Freundin empfehlen würde, egal ob selbst gekauft, gesponsert oder bezahlte Kooperation. Wenn ich euch ein Produkt empfehle, muss so toll sein, dass es mich auf irgendeine Weise vom Hocker gehauen hat.

Hier habe ich mal wieder so ein Schätzchen für euch, dass mir übrigens selbst eine Freundin empfohlen hat. Sie teilt mit mir die Begeisterung für das Naturkosmetik Brand Antipodes und wenn ich ehrlich bin, ist sie auch diejenige, die es entdeckt hat.

Da wir unterschiedliche Hauttypen haben, begeistern wir uns nicht immer für die gleichen Produkte des Brands, aber bei dem Serum Glow Ritual von Antipodes sind wir uns absolut einig: der Hammer. Und anscheinend begeistert es eine Menge Frauen, denn es ist ständig ausverkauft.

Es ist natürlich ganz logisch, dass ihr nie wieder Falten habt, wenn ihr es verwendet und dreißig Jahre jünger ausseht und ach was soll ich sagen, auch die Cellulite verschwindet und ihr nehmt noch 10 kg ab … 😂🙈 Ok, Spaß bei Seite, ich muss so einen Quatsch ja nicht behaupten, ich kann ja sagen, wie ich es empfinde:
Meine Haut trinkt das Glow Ritual Serum förmlich und gerade jetzt im Winter scheint das Serum genau die Pflege zu sein, nach der sich meine Haut sehnt. Die Haut fühlt sich jedenfalls super an.

Right now, France is being swept by the New Zealand natural cosmetics brand Antipodes—and I have to say, for good reason. I got the “Aura” mask from Antipodes for Christmas and was absolutely blown away. After the holidays I immediately ordered a face cream and I still can’t believe how amazing these products are. I definitely need to try more from Antipodes. Their effect is simply incredible. And on top of that, they smell just as wonderful as their names sound…

Wenn das spannendste, was Dir an Deinem Tag passiert, ein neues Brett im Abstellraum ist, dann bist Du wahrscheinlich im Confinement (Lockdown) zu Hause.

Sowohl Marie Kondo als auch die Damen von „The Home Edit“ würden über mein neues Brett im Abstellraum natürlich laut quietschend ausflippen, welch ungeahnte Möglichkeiten dieses Brett doch im Ordnungshimmel bietet. Deshalb habe ich auch ganze Arbeit geleistet und direkt mal zwei Zimmer verwüstet, um mich heute Abend dem Ausmisten hingeben zu können. Mal schauen, was da so Freude zwischen Schrauben und Schuhputzzeug entfacht. Es ist jedenfalls noch nicht so weit gekommen, dass ich hier mein Chaos zeige. Stattdessen befassen wir uns lieber damit, was ich nach dem Ausmisten machen werde. Danach verschwinde ich nämlich in meine (aufblasbare) Badewanne und fröne meiner Immortelle-Liebe.

Meine große Immortelle-Liebe hat ja mit der Seife von La Royerie begonnen und ich bin auch sehr froh, das ich reichlich davon gehamstert habe, denn diese Seife ist und bleibt mein Favorit. Gerade zu dieser Jahreszeit und jetzt, wo meine Spülmaschine den Geist aufgegeben hat, zeigt sie mal wieder, was sie kann. Ich habe schon überlegt, ob es vielleicht Geschirrspülmittel mit Immortelle gibt, denn herkömmliches Geschirrspülmittel, auch Bio, finden meine Hände voll blöd. Na egal, ich habe ja auch noch mein Immortelle-Öl von La Royerie, dass ich mit in meine Handcreme verrühre, das hilft auch ganz gut.

Aber zurück zu heute Abend und meiner Immortelle-Neuentdeckung. Es handelt sich zwar nicht um eine reine Naturkosmetik, aber ein paar Mal habe ich diese Immortelle-Tuchmaske von L’Occitane schon benutzt und finde sie ganz prima. Sie ist auch super zum Verschenken, finde ich.

If the most exciting thing that happens to you on your day is a new board in the storage room, then you are probably at home in the „confinement“.

Marie Kondo as well as the ladies of „The Home Edit“ would of course freak out about my new board in the storage room, squeaking loudly, what undreamt-of possibilities this board offers in the sky of order. That’s why I did a great job and destroyed two rooms to be able to clean up tonight. Let’s see what kind of joy there is between screws and shoeshine kit, but it hasn’t come so far that I show my chaos here. Instead, we’d rather deal with what I’m going to do after cleaning up. Afterwards I disappear into my (inflatable) bathtub and indulge my Immortelle love.

My big Immortelle love started with the soap from La Royerie and I’m also very happy that I hoarded a lot of it, because this soap is and will always be my favorite. Especially at this time of the year and now that my dishwasher has given up the ghost, it shows once again what it can do. I have already thought about the possibility of dishwasher detergent with Immortelle, because conventional dishwasher detergent, also organic, my hands find stupid. Anyway, I also have my Immortelle oil from La Royerie that I mix into my hand cream, which helps quite a bit.

But back to tonight and my new discovery of Immortelle. It’s not a purely natural cosmetic, but I have used this Immortelle Facemask by L’Occitane a few times and I think it’s great. It’s also great to give away, I think.

Ja genau, ich spreche — oder vielmehr schreibe — von diesen schlanken, gazellenhaften Wesen, die hier in Frankreich zart duftend und immer top gestylt auf High Heels durch die Straßen schweben. Sicher ist jedenfalls: Französinnen lieben Beauty-Salons und kennen sich mit Beauty-Produkten aus wie andere Menschen mit Wein. In vielen Fällen übrigens auch mit beidem.
Einige der kleinen Beauty-Geheimnisse der Französinnen kenne ich mittlerweile aber auch. Quasi ein Châteauneuf-du-Pape der Beauty-Produkte ist für mich das Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. Ein wahres Zaubermittel für samtweiche Haut.

Das Huile Prodigieuse von Nuxe ist ein Trockenöl mit einem zarten, pudrigen Duft, das man auch für die Haare verwenden kann — was ich leidenschaftlich gern tue. Der Vorteil dieses Körperöls ist, dass es sehr schnell einzieht und keinen schmierigen Fettfilm auf der Haut hinterlässt.
Ich liebe die pflegenden Eigenschaften dieses Öls. Es ist definitiv eines meiner liebsten Pflegeprodukte für den Winter.

The Huile Prodigieuse by Nuxe is a dry oil with a delicate, powdery scent that can also be used for the hair — which I personally love to do. The advantage of this body oil is that it absorbs very quickly and does not leave a greasy film on the skin.
I love the nourishing properties of this oil. It is definitely one of my favorite care products for winter.
