Wiederverwendbare Kosmetikpads aus Biobaumwolle

Wusstet ihr, dass Deutschland beim Papierverbrauch ziemlich weit vorne liegt? Irgendwo hatte ich gelesen, dass jeder Deutsche über 200 kg Papier jährlich verbraucht. Das ist eine Menge Holz – im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes.

Vor vielen Jahren habe ich Küchenrollen in meinem Haushalt für überflüssig erachtet und kann seitdem hervorragend ohne leben. Zu meiner Schande muss ich allerdings gestehen, dass ich weiterhin Wattepads, Papiertaschentücher und Toilettenpapier benutze. Ich bin sicher, bis ich Einweg-Toilettenpapier ersetze, muss jemand eine verdammt gute Idee gehabt haben🙈 .

Für den Wegwerfartikel Wattepad habe ich aber vermutlich eine kleine Lösung gefunden: wiederverwendbare Kosmetikpads.

Die Kosmetikpads, die ich damals getestet hatte, waren aus Biobaumwolle, waschbar und ganz weich. Das ursprüngliche Produkt ist inzwischen leider nicht mehr verfügbar. Ich habe aber eine ähnliche Alternative (Affiliate Link) gefunden, ebenfalls waschbar und aus Biobaumwolle.

Make-up-mäßig bin ich zwar nicht der Härtefall, aber für meinen normalen Gebrauch haben sich solche Pads super geschlagen. Zwei Pads hatte ich damals auch direkt in der Waschmaschine gewaschen, um zu schauen, wie sie das überstehen. Alles ganz wunderbar.

Die niedlichen Kosmetikpads sind übrigens auch hervorragend als Dekoration im Badezimmer geeignet. Man kann sie getrost mal herumliegen lassen. Ich finde sie auch süß für das Gästezimmer und dann zum Mitnehmen für die Gäste. Mit einer schönen Seife sind sie außerdem ein niedliches kleines Geschenk.

Und hier noch mein sehr kleiner Beauty-Tipp:

Kokosöl-Natron Peeling

Natron ist bei mir so ein Universal-Zeugs. Damit kann man ja fast alles machen, bestimmt auch zum Mond fliegen, habe ich aber noch nicht ausprobiert 😂.
Das Gesichtspeeling wiederum habe ich schon oft gemacht. Einfacher geht es gar nicht. Ich reibe mir zuerst das Gesicht mit Kokosöl ein und lasse das Öl etwas einziehen. Dann peele ich die Haut mit einer Matsche aus Kokosöl und Natron. Abspülen, fertig.
Das funktioniert genial. Ihr könnt euch gar nicht vorstellen, wie weich die Haut davon wird. Man kann statt Natron übrigens auch Heilerde nehmen.

Did you know that Germany is quite high up when it comes to paper consumption? Somewhere I had read that every German uses more than 200 kg of paper per year. That is a lot of wood, in the truest sense of the word.

Many years ago, I decided that kitchen rolls were unnecessary in my household and I have been living perfectly well without them ever since. To my shame, however, I have to admit that I still use cotton pads, paper tissues and toilet paper. I am sure that before I replace disposable toilet paper, someone will have to come up with a truly brilliant idea.

But for disposable cotton pads, I may have found a small solution: reusable cosmetic pads.

The cosmetic pads I tested back then were made of organic cotton, washable and very soft. The original product is unfortunately no longer available, but I found a similar alternative (affiliate link), also washable and made of organic cotton.

Make-up-wise, I am not exactly the hardest test case, but for my normal use, these pads worked really well. I also washed two of them in the washing machine back then, just to see how they would hold up. Everything was perfectly fine.

By the way, the cute cosmetic pads are also lovely as a little decoration in the bathroom. You can safely leave them lying around. I also find them cute for the guest room, so guests can take them home afterwards. Together with a nice soap, they also make a sweet little gift.

And here is my very small beauty tip:

Coconut oil-soda scrub

Baking soda is such a universal thing in my house. You can do almost everything with it, probably even fly to the moon, although I have not tried that yet.
The face scrub, however, I have done many times. It could not be easier. First, I rub my face with coconut oil and let the oil sink in a little. Then I exfoliate the skin with a mixture of coconut oil and baking soda. Rinse off, done.
It works brilliantly. You cannot imagine how soft the skin feels afterwards. By the way, you can also use healing clay instead of baking soda.
