ESSAOUIRA & „RIAD DAR MAYA“

The Riad „Dar Maya“ (affiliate link) has a completely different style than the Riad „Dar Bô“ that I presented in the previous post (here). We were there for the second time and I can highly recommend this riad. It is located in the medina of Essaouira and the style can best be described as modern and yet traditional. By the way, it is the only hotel where we did not freeze at night. A real tip for the winter. The „Dar Maya“ has a beautiful roof terrace with a huge sofa, places to eat and a jacuzzi. There are many cozy communal places in the riad, which I especially liked. There is even a living room of sorts on the top floor. Very cozy.

By the way, I fell on my first day in Marrakech, in hour one in the medina. I don’t think I’ve fallen in ten years. A skinned knee and a busted pair of jeans, that’s it. No other abrasions and nothing else broken. I had been quite lucky. A completely hectic situation, all have stressed and tugged at the suitcases. That is so not at all mine. I was probably a little overwhelmed with the concentrated Moroccan mentality. I have also not painted away my knee, which remains as a vacation memory.

Bisous Tonja
