Ein paar Marrakesch Eindrücke aus der Medina.
Marrakesch ist laut, bunt, manchmal anstrengend und trotzdem immer wieder faszinierend. Kaum ist man ein paar Schritte in der Medina unterwegs, ist man mittendrin in diesem eigenen kleinen Kosmos aus engen Gassen, quirligen Straßen und Plätzen, Mopeds, Eselskarren, Gewürzen, Teppichen, Laternen, Stimmen und Farben.
Ich liebe diese Mischung aus Chaos und Schönheit. Das Licht, die warmen Farben, die alten Türen, die kleinen Innenhöfe, die tausend kleinen Shops und die Details, die man manchmal erst auf den zweiten Blick entdeckt.
Natürlich ist Marrakesch nicht immer entspannt. Der Verkehr ist gigantisch, man wird angesprochen — obwohl das von Jahr zu Jahr weniger wird — und irgendwann ist man froh, wenn man wieder in einem ruhigen Innenhof sitzt. Aber am Ende sind es genau diese Gegensätze, die diese Stadt für mich so faszinierend machen.

A few Marrakech impressions from the medina.
Marrakech is loud, colorful, sometimes exhausting and still fascinating again and again. After just a few steps through the medina, you are right in the middle of this little world of narrow alleys, lively streets and squares, mopeds, donkey carts, spices, carpets, lanterns, voices and colors.
I love this mixture of chaos and beauty. The light, the warm colors, the old doors, the little courtyards, the thousand tiny shops and all the details that you sometimes only notice at second glance.
Of course, Marrakech is not always relaxing. The traffic is gigantic, people talk to you — although this becomes less and less from year to year — and at some point you are happy to sit in a quiet courtyard again. But in the end, it is exactly these contrasts that make this city so fascinating to me.
