Diese Vintage-Boxen sind eigentlich schon ein alter Hut, aber sie sind toll und eigentlich kann man auch gar nicht genug davon haben. Sie eignen sich hervorragend als dekorative Storage-Boxen. Beispielsweise in der Küche, wie auf meinen Fotos oder im Badezimmer. Manche Leute verwenden sie auch als Wandregale zum Beispiel für Gewürze. Das sieht ziemlich cool aus und es gibt Leute, die diese Boxen bepflanzen.

Mir gefällt außerdem, dass sie eine Alternative zu Plastik-Boxen sind. Und weil sie so robust sind, kann mit ihnen bestimmt sogar lebenslänglich haben, sofern man das will.

These vintage boxes are actually old hat, but they are great and actually you can’t have enough of them. They make great decorative storage boxes. For example in the kitchen, like in my photos or in the bathroom. Some people also use them as shelves for spices for example. It looks pretty cool and there are people who plant these boxes.
I also like that they are an alternative to plastic boxes. And because they’re so sturdy, I’m sure you can even have them for life, if that’s what you want.

Wenn man noch nie eine Dochtschere gesehen hat und sie bei Freuden rumliegen sieht, spuken einem unwillkürlich seltsame Bilder und Fragen im Kopf herum. Ich überlasse dies eurer eigenen Fantasie😂🙈. (Ich komme darauf auch nur, weil ich dazu schon sehr seltsame Fragen gestellt bekommen habe 🙈.)
Aber lasst euch gesagt sein, diese Schere ist harmlos. Man schneidet damit lediglich den Docht von Kerzen ab.

Ist der Docht einer Kerze zu lang, flackert und rußt sie, egal wie hochwertig eine Kerze ist. Den Ruß findet man dann als schwarzen Film an seiner Wand wieder oder in den Kerzen liegen unschöne kleine schwarze Knubbel. Das ist insbesondere bei Duftkerzen zu beobachten.

Mit einer normalen Schere kommt man schlecht in ein Kerzenglas oder Windlicht und der abgeschnittene Dochtrest fällt immer ins Glas. Wie das Butterbrot immer auf die Marmeladenseite fällt. Letztendlich hat man den Ruß am Finger und der lässt sich wirklich schwer abwaschen.
Und da kommt die Dochtschere ins Spiel.

Der Vorteil einer Dochtschere liegt darin, dass man damit in jedes Glas oder Windlicht kommt und die dreckigen Reste auf der kleinen Ablagefläche liegen bleiben. Voila, Docht gekürzt ohne rußverschmierte Finger.

If you have never seen a wick trimmer before and see them lying around at friends, strange images and questions spook involuntarily in your head. I leave this to your own imagination😂🙈. (I only come up with this because I have already been asked very strange questions about it🙈.)
But let me tell you, these scissors are harmless. They are only used to trim the wick of candles.

If the wick of a candle is too long, it flickers and soots, no matter how high quality a candle is. You will then find the soot as a black film on your wall or there will be unsightly little black lumps in the candles. This is especially the case with scented candles.

With a normal scissors one comes badly into a candle glass or lantern and the trimmed off wick rest always falls into the glass. Like the sandwich always falls on the jam side. In the end, you have the soot on your finger and it’s really hard to wash off.
And that’s where the wick trimmer comes in.

The advantage of wick scissors is that you can get into any jar or lantern with them and leave the dirty residue on the small storage area. Voila, wick shortened without soot-smeared fingers.

This interior shop, Les Bohémiens, where Sandra (@fontainedecerier) once dragged me during a visit, definitely deserves a post of its own.

Ich wäre auch gerne für ein paar Tage eingezogen. Stellt euch nur vor: Ich hätte weitere tausend oder auch zweitausend Fotos machen können und mit all den hübschen Sachen in dem Spielzimmer spielen können. Nachts hätte ich mich in das riesige Bett gekuschelt und die hundert Kissen darin einzeln an mich gedrückt und geherzt. Und die Traumfänger hätten mich nach Bali gebeamt …  Sorry, nun gehen die Kissen ähhhh Einhörner mal wieder mit mir durch.

Nun ja, es blieb bei einem Mitbringsel und einigen Fotos. Wer auch mal davon träumt in dem großen Bett mit den hundert Kissen zu kuscheln, kann im nächsten Urlaub vorbeischauen oder den Instagram-Account von Les Bohémiens anschmachten.

I would have loved to move in for a few days too. Just imagine: I could have taken another thousand or two thousand photos and played with all the pretty things in the playroom. At night I could have snuggled up in the huge bed and cuddled the hundred pillows in it one by one. And the dream catchers could have beamed me to Bali … (Sorry, now the pillows ähhh unicorns are going through with me again).

Well, it remained with a souvenir and some photos. Who ever dreams of cuddling in the big bed with the hundred pillows, can stop by the next vacation or drool over the Instagram account of Les Bohémiens.

Das österliche „Zuckerkoma“ habe ich dieses Jahr sehr vorbildlich überstanden, vermutlich aber nur, weil ich sparsam beim Hasen-Kauf gewesen bin.

Die Schoko-Hasen sind somit also bereits alle vernichtet, Schokoladen-Eier gab es schlichtweg dies Jahr nicht und die Deko ist auch bereits weggeräumt, ganz so, als wenn nichts gewesen wäre.
Das entstandene Deko-Loch habe ich nun mit Iris gefüllt. Die Farbe der Lilien finde ich super zu den blau-grünen Samtkissen, die wegen der Gemütlichkeit auch noch weiter Dienst auf der Couch schieben müssen.

Und die Macarons, die ich mir bei Canet gegönnt habe, habe ich nach Farbe ausgewählt, was total dämlich ist, denn eigentlich stehe ich nicht auf blumigen beziehungsweise Lavendel-Geschmack in Lebensmitteln. Aber die Versuchung war einfach zu groß.

Übrigens finde ich die Macarons von Canet, einer Patisserie mit drei Geschäften in Nizza, ziemlich lecker. Ich habe hier schon mal über Köstlichkeiten von Canet berichtet und die wunderschönen Lilien habe ich natürlich von meinem Lieblingsblumenladen Rosebelle in Nizza.

The Easter „sugar coma“ I have survived this year very exemplary, but probably only because I have been thrifty when buying bunnies.

The chocolate bunnies are already destroyed all, chocolate eggs were simply not this year and the decoration is also already cleared away, as if nothing had happened. Easter felt weird anyway, this year so completely without family, right?
The resulting decoration hole I have now filled with irises. The color of the lilies I find super to the blue-green velvet pillows, which must also push further service on the couch because of the coziness.

And the macarons that I treated myself to at Canet, I chose by color, which is totally stupid, because actually I’m not on violets or lavender flavor in food. But the temptation was just too great.

By the way, I think the macarons from Canet, a patisserie with three stores in Nice, are pretty delicious. I’ve reported here before about delicacies from Canet and the beautiful lilies I got of course from my favorite flower store Rosebelle in Nice.

Ich habe eigentlich nur schnell ein paar Tulpen kaufen wollen – und plötzlich standen Ranunkeln auf dem Tisch. Ups. Aber sie sind auch einfach zu schön.

Im Moment liebe ich dieses Rot zu den verschiedenen blauen Samtkissen, die sich auf dem Sofa lümmeln. Der Kontrast ist perfekt, und obwohl es unterschiedliche Farben sind, wirkt alles erstaunlich warm und ruhig. Genau so, wie ich es mag.

Manchmal braucht es gar nicht viel für ein kleines livingroom update. Ein paar frische Blumen, ein bisschen umstellen, und plötzlich fühlt sich alles wieder anders an.
Beim Umdekorieren habe ich noch ein bisschen „Tetris“ mit meinen Windlichtern gespielt – ein bisschen hin, ein bisschen her – und irgendwann passt es dann einfach. Ich bin jetzt ziemlich zufrieden mit meinem kleinen Wohnzimmer-Update.
Und ich schwöre: Abends mit Kerzen ist es noch schöner.
Wer noch ein bisschen mehr Windlicht-Inspiration sucht, ich habe hier auch schon einmal einen sehr schönen Beitrag dazu gemacht.

I actually just wanted to quickly pick up some tulips – and somehow ended up with ranunculus on the table. Oops. But they really are just too beautiful.

Right now, I love this red together with the different blue velvet cushions lounging on the sofa. The contrast is perfect, and even though they’re different colors, everything feels surprisingly warm and calm. Exactly how I like it:
Sometimes it doesn’t take much for a small living room update. A few fresh flowers, moving things around a little, and suddenly everything feels different.
While redecorating, I also played a bit of “Tetris” with my lanterns – a little here, a little there – and at some point, it just works. I’m quite happy with my little living room update now.
And I swear: in the evening, with candlelight, it’s even better.

Also wenn ich dieses Jahr nicht perfekt auf den Herbst vorbereitet bin, dann weiß ich es auch nicht mehr. Jetzt sind bei mir auch noch die schönsten Laternen eingezogen.
Laternen im Wohnzimmer machen für mich abends einfach die schönste Stimmung. Laternen und Kerzen gleich cozy Atmosphäre. Es gibt auf meinem Blog übrigens einige Posts zu diesem Thema, wie zum Beispiel diesen über wunderschöne Windlichter.

Die hübschen Laternen, die ich hier gerade auspacke, lassen sich auf jeden Fall hervorragend mit Windlichtern aller Art kombinieren. Sie passen einfach perfekt zu meinem gemütlichen-orientalischen Deko-Mix.
Sie haben übrigens einen kleinen Trick – einen Schalter – und funktionieren mit Batterie, fast wie eine kleine Lichterkette. Ich verwende dafür übrigens gerne wiederaufladbare Akkus.

Auf den Bildern seht ihr Modelle, die ich ursprünglich von PTMD hatte. Sie waren aber sehr schnell ausverkauft und ich kann euch daher nicht sagen, wo ihr sie kaufen könnt. Ich habe aber sehr ähnliche auf Amazon entdeckt (Affiliate Link).

If I’m not perfectly prepared for autumn this year, then I really don’t know what else to do. Now the most beautiful lanterns have moved in with me as well.
Lanterns in the living room create the most beautiful atmosphere for me in the evening. Lanterns and candles equal a cozy atmosphere. By the way, I’ve shared a few posts on my blog about this topic already, for example this one about beautiful candle lights.

The pretty lanterns I’m unboxing here can definitely be combined perfectly with all kinds of candle holders. They fit just right with my cozy, slightly oriental decor mix.
They also have a little trick – a switch – and work with batteries, almost like a small string of lights. I personally prefer using rechargeable batteries.

In the photos, you can see models I originally had from PTMD. They sold out very quickly, so I can’t tell you where to buy them anymore. But I’ve found very similar ones on Amazon (affiliate link).

Seit Kurzem bin ich stolze Besitzerin eines großen Bali-Schirms. Das ist an sich nichts Außergewöhnliches und auch nichts Besonderes, schließlich hat längst jeder so einen Schirm. Außerdem habe ich die Schirme früher selbst im Laden verkauft. Aber, bekanntlich hat der Schuster die schlechtesten Leisten. Für mich war irgendwie nie ein Bali-Schirm übrig.

Letztes Jahr hatte ich einen „Baby“-Tempel-Schirm ergattert. Der ist einfach entzückend, aber aufgrund seiner Größe auch nicht der weltbeste Schattenspender. Nun habe ich noch einen großen Bruder ergattern können.
Und weil ich meine kleine Schirm-Family so wunderbar finde, musste ich sie natürlich auch fotografieren.

I’ve recently become the proud owner of a large Bali umbrella. That in itself isn’t anything unusual or particularly special – after all, it seems like everyone has one by now. I even used to sell them in my shop. But, as the saying goes, the shoemaker always has the worst shoes. Somehow, there was never a Bali umbrella left for me.

Last year I managed to get hold of a “baby” temple umbrella. It’s absolutely charming, but because of its size it’s not exactly the world’s best shade provider. Now I’ve finally been able to add a big brother to the collection.
And since I think my little umbrella family is so wonderful, of course I had to take some photos of them.

Ich freue mich sehr, dass ich euch mit meinem Obstkörbchen-Post (hier) inspirieren konnte und mir schon einige geschrieben haben, dass sie sich auch welche gekauft haben. Fast noch größer aber war die Frage nach meiner Glaskaraffe mit dem Rattangeflecht. Die will ich euch natürlich nicht vorenthalten.

Ich habe meine Karaffe schon etwas länger. Dummerweise hatte ich damals nicht geschaltet und nicht die passenden Gläser gleich dazu gekauft.

Letztens habe ich bei „Maison du Monde“ sowohl die Karaffe als auch die Gläser gesehen und habe direkt ein paar Gläser mitgenommen.

Bei den Gläsern kann man das Geflecht übrigens abnehmen und das Glas bequem in der Spülmaschine waschen.

I’m really happy that my little fruit basket post (here) inspired you, and that several of you wrote to tell me you bought some as well. But even more than that, the big question was about my glass carafe with the rattan weave. And of course, I don’t want to keep that from you.

I’ve had my carafe for quite a while now. Unfortunately, back then I wasn’t thinking and didn’t buy the matching glasses along with it.

Recently, at “Maison du Monde,” I spotted both the carafe and the glasses, and I immediately picked up a few of the glasses.

By the way, the rattan weave on the glasses can be removed, so you can easily pop the glass into the dishwasher.

Nachdem ich gestern so davon geschwärmt habe, dass die tollen Leinenkissen von „Dekoria“ einfach überall hin passen (hier), möchte ich hiermit den Beweis antreten. Auch für ein Picknick bestens geeignet. Für ein Picknick am Strand, ein Picknick auf der Wiese, ein Picknick am Pool – ein Traum. Und durch den Tragegriff kann man sie wirklich ganz leicht überall mit hinnehmen.

Ein grauer Wintertag ist nur was für drinnen? Von wegen. Auch ein grauer Wintertag verdient es, draußen zelebriert zu werden. So geschehen bei meinem letzten Besuch bei @fontainedecerier an einem Nachmittag kurz vor Weihnachten.

Während @fontainedecerier einen kleinen Snack für uns gezaubert hat, habe ich ein Plätzchen unter einem Olivenbaum für uns hergerichtet. Viel brauchte ich dafür eigentlich nicht.
Ich habe einfach nur mit Schwung die unfassbar schöne Tischdecke mit Rosenmuster von Dekoria über einen Tisch geworfen, etwas Grün in die passende Vase von Dekoria gesteckt, und eine Kerze angezündet, und fertig war unser traumhaftes Plätzchen unter dem Olivenbaum. Das Blumenmuster der Tischdecke ist aber auch sowas von spektakulär, dass man damit jeden Tisch ohne weiteres Gedönse in ein instagramtaugliches Fotomotiv verwandelt.

Und wie das dann bei mir immer so ist, gehen die Kissen ähh Pferde mit mir durch. Die Kissen durften dann nicht mehr auf der Steinbank liegen, sondern MUSSTEN lasziv auf dem Boden liegen. Wenn schon Pinterest-like, dann auch das volle Programm. @fontainedecerier ist, was das betrifft, in ihrem Metier keinen Deut besser als ich und auch keine große Hilfe in Sachen Bodenhaftung. Nach einem prüfenden Blick nach draußen und einem lauten ohhhhh verschwand sie wieder im Haus und kam nach kurzer Zeit mit dem Instagram-tauglichen Snack zurück. Selbstverständlich war der Bilderbuch-Snack passend auf dem stylischen Geschirr von Dekoria angerichtet und selbstverständlich war der Snack zum Essen fast zu schön. Aber wir wollten ja einen kleinen Snack draußen zelebrieren und so haben wir alles aufgefuttert und uns brav beim Wein zurückgehalten.

A grey winter day is only meant for staying indoors? Not at all. Even a grey winter day deserves to be celebrated outside. That’s exactly what we did during my last visit to @fontainedecerier on an afternoon shortly before Christmas.

While @fontainedecerier prepared a little snack for us, I set up a cozy spot for us under an olive tree. It really didn’t take much.
I simply threw the incredibly beautiful rose-patterned tablecloth from Dekoria over a table with a bit of flair, added some greenery to the matching vase from Dekoria, lit a candle—and just like that, our dreamy little spot under the olive tree was ready. The floral pattern of the tablecloth is so spectacular that it instantly turns any table into an Instagram-worthy setting without any extra fuss.

And as it always happens with me, things got a little out of hand—well, let’s say my enthusiasm did. The cushions were no longer allowed to stay on the stone bench; they absolutely HAD to lie casually on the ground. If we’re going for a Pinterest-like vibe, then all the way. @fontainedecerier, when it comes to this, is no better than I am and definitely not much help in staying grounded. After taking a quick look outside and letting out a loud “ohhhhh,” she disappeared back into the house and returned shortly after with the Instagram-worthy snack. Of course, the picture-perfect snack was beautifully arranged on stylish Dekoria tableware, and of course, it was almost too pretty to eat. But since we wanted to celebrate a little snack outdoors, we ate everything anyway—and behaved ourselves when it came to the wine.
